    Default 2005 Grammy's

What did you think of the show?

I thought it was one of if not the best show they have ever had. You had rock jamming with rap, with country.

I loved the "Southern Rock" tribute with Skynard, Dickie Betts, Elvin Bishop, Tim McGraw, that other dude, and Gretchen Wilson. And the Tsunami relief song that was done with Velvet Revolver as the band along with Steven Tyler, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keyes (who was HOT last night btw), McGraw, And I forgot who else sang as well.
It was nice to see Melissa Etheridge performing on the Janis Joplin tribute. She looks good, bald, but good. I hope she is doing as well as she looked and sounded.

Nice to see Page and Jones there, but where was Plant? I was hopning that they would jam in recognition of their LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

It was a very god show with GREAT performances.
J-LO CAN sing, even though I didn't understand any of it. A I was surprised how good of a singer Jamie Foxx is. But he seems to be thinking lately that he IS Ray Charles, plus I really enjoyed Kanye West's performance even though I am not a rap fan.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

I couldn't sit through the garbage long enough to wait for good stuff.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

IAMA I am a stage hand for big mainstream artists. (self.IAmA)

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

One thing about the Links that hasn't changed in almost 5 years: Eddymon just can't figure out where a topic is supposed to go.

Melissa Etheridge absolutely stole the show, she was the ONLY guest that rocked!! On a sad note, too bad the sniper I hired missed a chance to do the world a favor and take out Bono before their bore of a song..LOL, did you get a look of the Edge`s pedal board, it was longer then a football field and the fucking guy only knows one note and one effect..

Is she ill? Is that why she is bald? I must've missed something.

Default What - no Grammy thread?

Never been a big fan of these productions myself, but I caught
a good bit of it and can't come up with anything to complain about
save for Zep not getting their due with the "Lifetime Achievement"
or whatever. I mean a drive by with Pagey waving? Criminal.

That aside, I was impressed. I like that it was live for the most part.
U2. Good. Quincy with Fox and Keyes. Good. (Although she still tends
to oversing everything, but she'll grow outta that). Maroon Five. Go
ahead with your gtr solo. Los Loney Boys. Ditto. The Opener. Ambitious,
but they pulled it off. Gwen. Always a pleasure. The Closer. Very cool.
A few goofs, but that's live TV, baby. Slash on a 12 string Les Paul!

    Anyone else?

Kanye is great, I'm glad he won. His performance was awesome too. I also like the southern rock performance, and the James Brown/Usher performance.

The Tsunami performance was boring and so were most of the others. I also thought that Ray Charles won all those awards because he died. Don't get me wrong, he was a great artist, and probably person, but they shouldn't just give away awards to honor someone.
    I am awesome

Los Lonely Boys should've got the "Best New Artist" award over Maroon 5.

    Pretty good Joplin tribute.

Whoever it is they found for the lead in the long-awaited film bio of Joplin, it's the wrong person. Melissa Etheridge proved she should have the job.

The Alicia Keys and Jamie Foxx duet was nice, as were Los Lonely Boys.

Damn...could they cram enough artists into the opening act number???

Seemed like every Grammy performer received a standing ovation last night.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

    -George Carlin 1937 - 2008
