    Default EVH solo grammy style

How sick would it be if Ed just got up on stage and did his eruption solo for 10 minutes tonight, with cig in headstock and all, kinda like when VH came out at the MTV awards without us having a clue.i think that would make my life. ooo I think it would also be cool if they made a time machine and we could all go back to 1982 together and shit like that....

yeah i kinda figured it wouldnt happen I was kinda joking, but at least they had some good guys up there like allman and those people and they gave Zeppelin some props. I saw Page in the front row but all in all i feel like the music world has just gone to shit...Im a relatively young dude, halfway to 46, but as soon i started to get into music I was in 7th grade, it was all zeppelin and van halen, unfortunately at that time all the good music started ending. Gangsta rap took over, I wish I would have been of age during the 80s, when at laest from my point of view, there were some really sick guitar players [see Vito Bratta thread]. I know a lot of them were copy cats and all that shit, but id take a slew of 80s guitarists over any of these busted ass dudes nowadays, you barely see a guitar in a video (barely see a video) anymore. See, bascially my point of all this is that you guys are lucky. I would love to be able to turn on TV or whatever and see Wylde or anyone whose got talent these days, but I cant. I have to come here for that or go buy a guitar magazine. You guys had it good man!

Ifeel like I am one of the only dudes of my generation who drove around his high school with david lee roth eat em and smile playing [classs of 2000 baby! and if there are some of you out there let me know caus ethen i wont feel so alone!] No I dont smoke dope, and yes i got in a bad accident recetly so I just lay around now and take painkillers and play my guitar and hang out on the vhlinks guitar room, I cant do shit else (hence all my posts). But what I would give to be able to roll up to a party blasting some Winger and have people think im the coolest dude around, instead of thinking im the dude who is like Uncle Rico from napolean dynamite who wants to build a time machine to 1982!

Did anyone see the commercial though with the dude playing the white les paul, then he stopped and put some stripes with red tape on it then he starting jamming! I would say that counts as an EVH type appearnce!

Thats pretty funny...I dont think Ed is the type of person to do that. He doesnt seem like the kind to live or dweel in the past.
Besides Eds not about showing off his guitar skills as much as his band and music.

I would have to say that VHs hay-day was in the 80's and early 90s. Then Nirvana turned heads with a more serious and disturbing version of metal/hard rock, which people latched onto. I think people just got tired of pink guitars and poofy hair from the 80s. People always singing about sex and living up the good life, party, party, party....

But Hip Hop has defintley taking over the limelight. I dont like rap that much but thats me just souding old. I mean your parents probably didnt like your music much.

theres still TONS of great music out there, your just not going to find it on TV or on the radio and more than likely have a hard time finding it in stores. True metal is not dead yet, its just underground. If enough people showed an interest in getting into the classic metal artists like King Diamond, W.A.S.P., Exodus, Annihiliator, Testament, Overkill, Mercyful Fate and bands like that(which are HUGE in Europe)then it would become a more dominate genre, but people just dont wanna search around for the stuff. Its out there, you just gotta look. Or move to Europe lol.
