Default Looking for Eddie and Scandal live at the Roxy

Does anyone have mp3 or wavs of River Deep Mountain High and Maybe We Went Too Far, where Eddie joined Patty Smyth and Scandal at the Roxy in LA circa 1985?

I heard Maybe We Went Too Far many years ago (lost the file). It was REALLY cool.

My friend is a Scandal fan, and more recently a Van Halen fan, and I had to find it for her!

I did searches through the forums, all links and info came up dead because they are old threads. I did numerous keyword searches too :-(

Thanks to anyone that could help a brother out :-)

I have a couple of photos of Eddie jamming with Scandal in Dallas or Oklahoma, back around the same time. PM me your email address and I will go to a friend's house, scan them, and have him email them to you and maybe you can post them for everyone to see.

Eddie has real short hair, like we'd never seen at the time. I think I have one of him with Patty and maybe one by himself, I'm not sure. Good luck on finding that show, that would be way cool to see!

I'm pretty sure I have them on CD. I know I had them on my hard drive but I'm not sure if I burned them or not. I'll look for them. You may also be able to find it at Strungout's bootleg forum. That may be where I got them.

Update: I have them on my computer if you want them. They are also still up at Strungout.

If ya need the Tribute to Jeff Porcaro stuff that Ed did let me know.....! Plus any other session work EVH has done! I have most of it!
Early music made heavy use of the Church modes, which were later organized due to their relationship to the interval pattern of the major scale. The modern conception of modal scales describes a system where each mode is the usual diatonic scale, but with a different starting note. Modes came back into favour some time later in the development of jazz (modal jazz) and more contemporary 20th century music. Much folk music is also best analysed in terms of modes. For example, in Irish traditional music the ionian, dorian, aeolian and mixolydian modes occur (in roughly decreasing order of frequency); the phrygian mode is an important part of the flamenco sound. The Brown Sound popularised by and identified with the music of Edward Van halen displays a distinct lack of respect for any form of music modality - its straight ahead balls to the wall good ol' fashioned rawk and roll......

I tried to get the Jeff Poracro Tribute concert on at Sharing The Groove, then it died. I actually only got the cover artwork...
So I never obtained it! I have been trying to find it ever since. I'd love to hear the stuff. I have only heard a sound byte of Aint Talkin bout Love with Luke and Eddie. How many songs did they do together?

They should have sold that then dedicated it to his favorite charity or something. They would have raised so much.

I am curious have you ever heard the stuff that Eddie did with Jeff Berlin many years ago at a GIT jam out in LA in the 80s?

I am also wondering about when he got together with Allan Holdsworth, may have been the same era (or even the same event). I have only seen photos, I bet it would have been a helluva jam!

I just downloaded the two songs he did with Thomas Dolby, pretty dissapointing. Weak songs, and only one even has a solo.

I love that song that Eddie did with Roger Waters, Lost Boys Calling- great movie too. Really haunting tune.
