    Default LRHRN question.......

Do Sam and Ed both play on one way to rock on the rhrn cd??...I just canít get enough of this version.... I wish they put this vid on the DVD, but i'm sure that they didnít because it was on LWAN. That and the fact it is not a VH song...also I put in the studio version of this and man it sucks without ed lol...I mean still a great song but we get spoiled when ed plays it....

I remember seeing around here somewhere that the answer is no. By the FUCK tour Sam was only playing guitar during his solo acoustic set, and that was it.

But I may be way off, this was a while ago.

I saw them on that tour in Richmond, and I don't remember Sam picking up a guitar except for Give to Live. He also had a pretty bad cold and didn't sound too good, but he soldiered through it like a champ.

Yeah, hearing Ed on songs other than VH stuff makes you realize how good he really is. I love the live version of "Eagles Fly" from the Balance tour. Ed gives the ending a completely different feel.

The VH version of "Rocking in the Free World" absolutely kicks ASS! Makes the Neil Young version sound like James Taylor.

During the sound check on the 04' tour, they jammed on "Mississippi Queen" and made that song rock.

Eddie is absolutely the best guitarist to ever walk the planet.

I think a lot of people who complain about that tune on tour wouldn't mind it so much if the whole band played too. It's not a bad song, it just slows the shows down too much when played acoustically...

That's interesting. EVH is my hero but I've heard him play this song a few times from various boots, and he pretty much slaughters it.

In fairness though, I think I like the Neil Young no-frills attitude to this track, and Ed does tend to try spice things up. :P

"One Way to Rock" wasn't part of Sam's solo set, and everyone did play on that song.

I'm pretty sure that BOTH of them played on OWTR on RHRN. I'm pretty sure they did it that way on the Dallas Free Show too. I remember Sam getting his guitar and doing a little solo and saying that " Ed loves it when I get my guitar because it kicks him in the ass a little bit and giving him some competition." All i have to say to that is YEAH RIGHT. Sam = good rhythm guitarist. Ed = GOD. Anyway yeah they both played.
