Default New record label for DLR

Not sure if this is old news or of interest to anyone, but DLR recently signed to Demolition Records who released his 'Diamond Dave' CD throughout Europe on November 15.

I believe he is still signed to Magna Carta Records as well. Demolition Records must just be handling the European release, (which for some reason includes Australia too, because I have seen a Demolition copy of Diamond Dave here.)

What blows about some of these "labels" (using the term loosely) is their distribution, or rather the lack of it.

Yup, I still enjoy purchasing cd's from a store, I'm funny that way...yet when one of these independant labels only provides a store with 2-3 copies of a release, and never reships replacements, well one is out of luck .

Maybe, by accident one will find a wanted release in a used cd place, usually 3 years later!

And I do not trust the internet for crap, regarding purchasing.

I'm not sure if anyone else has a more definite idea, but Dave's last WB album was 'Your Filthy Little Mouth' (94). DLR 'Best Of' was released by Rhino (a WB offshoot) in 97.

His releases since then have been on smalltime labels.

Ah I see. Well, hopefully this means we'll see a return to form soon for the mighty DLR.

Ya, I was thinking the same thing. A new label means diddly if there ain't new music.

That didn't last beyond DLR Band. DLR Band had really horrid distribution at first, and the way the songs were put on the radio was botched, too. Diamond Dave came out on Magna Carta.

Thanks, I was wondering why DD came out on another label. He should have kept his going, and put out DVDs and such.

I think that proved a bit untenable. He seemed to really want to get that BBQ DVD out, but none of the labels/distributors would touch it. If he could have done it himself (beyond selling VHS copies at concerts) I think he would have. It's kinda sad to see Dave struggling to get support.

Isn't Demolition just the European distributor?

Dave needs to get on Sanctuary Records and release a great, classic VH/DLR style ROCK record with a good single. We all know he's capable. Well, I do, anyway. He just has to do it. He could be a big name again. He still is, but he could be a more "current" name. He's a very smart man and he knows exactly what he has to do. It's just a matter of doing it.

Interestingly enough, I bet Dave has made more money, percentage wise, off his own label then he ever did with WB.

Gimme 5% of 500,000 units over 20% of 20,000 anyday.

Case, I think the last person that want's Dave to try to climb Mt. Rock again is Dave. His heart isn't in it, and hasn't been for a long, long time.

    DLR is TOO DEMANDING...

I don't think that many labels can stand DLR for a while....HE'S TOO DEMANDING!!!!!!
    No, not %-wise!
    He wants:

    Butch security guard chicks
    Midgets (sorry, it's "little people")
A plethora of hot chicks (the record label has to buy them now, girls aren't easy to rock stars as they were in the 80's).
    Playboy Playmates
THE Playboy Playmates - The Dahm Triplets

    And the most time consuming...
They have to separate the BROWN M&M's for him!!!!
