Default Am I Ever Gonna Change? (Nunos tone)

Does anyone know how I can get the tone Nuno has during the verses of this amazing song? I suspect its that there is more than one guitar in there....but its such a cool echo style he has going.

Has anyone ever successfully played this and made it sound anything like on the album? I had a boot somewhere of Nuno doin it live and it doesnt sound deep enough live. Anyway, any comments or thoughts on this....

In the studio it would be a stereo track with hard panning left and right. Chances are that live it was through a mono setup, or a mono recording. The only way to get that depth in a live recording would be to seperate the stereo signal, and record it as seprate tracks.

On RHRN recording during Ed's solo you can hear the result of isolated tracks. Listen to Cathedral during his solo with headphones. When he's hitting the chords at the begining of it, his dry signal is on the left and the wet, (delay) signal is on the right, (or visa versa). It would be the same thing for the Nuno verse, or if you're a Vai fan, Hina off of Skyscraper. It's a pretty powerful effect imo.

I've done a bit of recording in this vein. If you want to hear it just PM me with your email addy and I'll send it to you.
