Default Guitar with no Headstock on LWAN

Can someone tell me what kind of guitar Eddie was playin' in the DVD "Live Without a Net"? The one with no headstock and small body. Thanks.

Yeah it was a steinberger, it has a transposable trem allowing ed to keep all the strings in tune when he depressed or lifted the arm, you can also lock tunings, like on "summer nights"

Man, I used to have one of those with the transtrem. I built it from parts from Gibson. Sold it when my collection got too big. It was a very cool guitar. It had a little block on the tremelo bar with 6 notches in it that allowed for key transposition. You could depress or raise the tremelo bar and the strings stayed in tune. On "Summer Nights" Ed put the bar up one notch I think and then when the verse started, he'd put it back to normal tuning. For the solo rhythm part, he'd drop it down one notch.

The only bad thing about that guitar was that strings wore out really quick. I play with 10's, and if I used the trem too much, the high E would pop very fast.

    Still a cool guitar though...

Thanks for the info guys. I just got a catalog from MF, and was wondering if the one on the cover was the same. Just kinda peaked my interest.

Gibson has pulled Steinberger through the mud. Can't really blame them, during the 90's grunge they probably didn't sell any better than ice cream in Alaska.

I saw the cover of MF and it has some roller capo-thing that looks like they are using to replace the transtrem.

If you look at the floyd rose guitars in there, the ones with the speedloader system, it says the trem can be pulled up or down "in tune." The strings are similar--they have double ball ends like the Steinberger.
