2 DLR songs from Best of Vol. 1 vs. 3 Sammy songs from BOBW

I gotta go with the three Sammy Hagar songs, hands down.

"Me Wise Magic" is very good, almost classic DLR.
"Can't Get This Stuff No More" is fair. DLR doesn't sound great but the music is cool.

"It's About Time". A plain, clean & simple rocker.
"Up For Breakfast". Classic Sammy ala Poundcake, very tongue and cheek.
"Learning To See". Awesome and will probably become one of their most underrated songs.
"Question is,not does love exist, but when, she leaves, where she goes. I got a feeling she don't know either. Wait like the wind, watch where she blows..."

    new tunes. Sammy.

hey, anyone who actually counts out stuff,(damn musicians) have you noticed on Learning to See, right when they come in with the verse(clean chord), that they drop a beat, and beat 4 becomes one. I didn't notice this right away, but it did seem like a very abrute change when i first heard it.

i love the 2 dave tunes, always have.... as for the 3 new hagar tunes, its about time is a great tune to rock out to, learning to see has become one of my favourite songs ever and up for breakfast is great musically, but the lyrics are a tad off haha... so basically its a tie, i cant quite decide both are awesome.

    Dave Tunes, hands down.

'Me Wise Magic' is phenomenal. Vocals, guitar, everything is tight and rocking.

'Can't Get This Stuff No More' is damn good too. Dave's voice sounds great. I'm not sure why so many people initially didn't like this one. And the guitar hook on Ed's solo is great.

As for the Sammy tunes, 'It's About Time' is alright, but the lyrics lack a bit. Good, plain rock tune though.

'Up For Breakfast' is nauseating after a while. The tongue in cheek stuff is overdone.

'Learning to See' is ok. It's a bit all over the place.

Mr. Roth takes this contest in a heartbeat.

I think it's a little too close to call. I love all of those songs. I'll give it to Sam because he has 3 songs and Dave has two.

I've got to give my nod to Dave's tunes. It just wants to pull me up higher and higher. I do like the new ones with Sam, but I tend to taper off attitude-wise halfway through the tune.

"Up For Breakfast" is nauseating?!?! Why because of the tongue and cheek lyrics. Hmmmmmmm. But in "Me Wise Magic" Dave sings "my words of advise to you a fortune cookie". You like that better? That is just odd my friend.

EASILY the Dave songs. Sometimes I wanna hear the new Sammy songs, but it's getting less and less common. The 1996 Dave cuts on the other hand... I always want to hear them. CGTSNM is the better one of the two, also, IMO. I love the hook of, "How many times can somebody lie?" etc. Very cool. I also love the way Dave's voice sounds. It's totally Dave but it's a bit more modern.
