Keith Moon should be #1, IMO. If it's a list of rock drummers, he's easily the best. He wasn't an amazing technician, but he played with more feel than anyone. On the drums, playing with feel is hard. He was also a very fast drummer. Check out "Success Story" from "The Who By Numbers" for a super-fast Moon fill.

Starkey is a great technician, but Moon was just something else entirely. He was an amazing drummer.

i'm surprised Weinberg isn't higher on the list. RS has been riding Springsteen's sack for so long they're practically attached to it.

No love for Alex! should've been higher if you ask me.
The question is not, "Does love exist?"
But when she leaves, where she goes?
I got the feelin' she don't know either
Wait like the wind, watch where she blows

With all due respect to AVH, how the hell is Tommy Lee not on this list let alone not in the top 10. He's much better than most of the guys on the list including their choice for #1, Neal Peart.

I would'nt wipe my ass with Rolling Stone Magazine.

I don't know...maybe I just don't understand something here...why the hell do people think that Tommy Lee is good? He is very average in Girls,Girls,Girls and Dr. Feelgood which I both have. Saying that Tommy Lee is better than Neil Peart in blasphemy. I don't know, maybe you just prefer his style more than some of those drummers. If I made a list, Neil would always be on the top every single time. Let me just thow out a question, could Tommy Lee do all of Neil's drum parts and could Neil do all of Tommy's drum parts?

I would definitely agree with you on RS...

I guess its just a matter of personal taste. I have personally never liked Rush and have never seen anything special in anybody that plays in the band or in their music. Tommy Lee on the other hand, is to me what really gives Motley Crue their sound (I find Tommy's drumming to be just as recognizable as EVH's guitar playing). If you listen to any Motley Crue CD with Tommy Lee and then play their "New Tattoo" CD you'll see what I mean Randy Castillo(RIP) is no Tommy Lee.

It was really hard for me to get into Rush just because of Geddy's voice but it is just a matter of personal taste anyway. That's why I hate dumbass lists like the ones that RS put out becuase it's always their opinion but many people take it a fact. Their top 100 guitarists and top 500 songs lists were laughable.

Yes Tommy Lee should be on "the list" but RS is pure BS. Lee is an awesome drummer and I love his contribution to RnR. However, he can't, won't, and shant ever come close to Neil.
