I'm still trying to find that out... but thanks for making me look that up. There's so much I still don't know.

    SNOWFLAKE AND SAFESPACE

Psychic Twins. “All twins are psychic, but we’re psychic-er.” Snowflake, a cryokinetic, can materialize snowflake-shaped shuriken projectiles for throwing. Safespace can materialize pink forcefields, but he can’t inhabit them himself, the reflex only works if he’s protecting others. They’re hyper aware of modern culture and optics, and they see their Super Heroics as “a post-ironic meditation on using violence to combat bullying.” They're probably streaming this.

"Snowflake and Safespace are the twins," the writer says, "and their names are very similar to Screentime; it's this idea that these are terms that get thrown around on the internet that they don't see as derogatory. [They] take those words and kind of wear them as badges of honor.

"Safespace is a big, burly, sort of stereotypical jock. He can create forcefields, but he can only trigger them if he's protecting somebody else. Snowflake is non-binary and goes by they/them, and has the power to generate individual crystalized snowflake-shaped shurikens. The connotations of the word 'snowflake' in our culture right now are something fragile, and this is a character who is turning it into something sharp.

"Snowflake is the person who has the more offensive power, and Safespace is the person who has the more defensive power. The idea is that they would mirror each other and complement each other."

Reading a cool DC Elseworlds story from the 90's; Justice League: The Nail

Good stuff. Don't know why it's so hard for them to come up with this kind of stuff, these days???

I see there's a sequel also. JL: Another Nail

I do all my comics digital now, but this sucks for a lot of folks. Comic shops are doomed.

I preferred the third entry in the series the best: Justice League: Carriage Bolt

both are great for Alan Davis art alone but the stories are fun. I was actually thinking of re-buying the nail just the other day

I agree with you about lee for the most part. Ross is kind of different because of the way he produces his work. he could never keep up with a regular series, that the only knock against him. I love his art.

I'm a huge George Perez fan, I always go for he real detailed stuff. Phil Jiminez is similar, he used to be alot closer to GP but he's changed the way he draws some things so he's a bit removed but still great.

The new $20 collected addition caught my attention and I was ready to order it... then I went to Comixology and was able to borrow JLA: The Nail #1-3 and buy JLA: Another Nail 1-3 for just 84˘ a piece.

I'm really embracing digital comics since I got a 10" Fire tablet, which is pretty much the same page size of an actual comic. Saving a ton of money also through Comixology Unlimited and all the massive library available at DC Universe.

Not a comic book, but I thought I would share, might be well known information.

My sons are playing through a video game called Batman: Arkham Knight, and I was walking by yesterday right as one of the finished it and the end of the game cut scene was playing. Batman had been revealed to be Bruce Wayne, and of course, in true comic fashion, he then faked his own assassination (the explosion of Wayne Manor with all the world's media outside his gates), and then came back as some new vigilante using Scarecrow's fear toxin.

Thought it was interesting and would share. Might be nothing.

    Carry on!
