TODD IS MY FAVORITE ARTIST! He talked to me for about 30 minutes and he showed me the new Spawn figures that were coming out soon. He gave me an autographed Spawn comic signed by Todd, and one signed by Al Simmons and himself.

    Thanks

I did the exact same thing when I met Bob Mcfarlane a few years ago at Wizard World Chicago. Very Nice guy.

If anyone is hitting Wizard Wolrd Chicago or the Spring Motor City Comic Cons I will have a table in artist alley at both of em. Stop by and say hi.

I usually go to the Toronto convention. I think the Chicago one is great too though. I have seen ads for it, they get a lot of great artists there.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Brian Hitch as a favorite artist. He's doing phenomenal work on The Ultimates, which was preceeded by a phenomenal stint on JLA, which preceeded by a phenomenal run on The Authority. Great artist who knocked Jim Lee off the top of the pile IMO. I still really like Jim Lee, but I think Hitch is the bees knees.

    Books I'm loving right now:
The Astonishing X-Men - Joss Whedon and John Cassady (another amazing artist) have brought back the magic that made me fall in love with the X-Men in the first place. It really is every bit as good as the Claremont/Byrne run.

The Walking Dead - great zombie book. The concept of "how do humans go on in this environment" is the empahsis, not the gore (although that's there too). The end of each issue leaves me anxious for the next one. By the way FH, I ordered the Remains TPB based on your recommendation. Still waiting on it to come in. I thought it was supposed to be out in December?

The Ultimates 2 - after 2 issues, we're still waiting on the action to get going. But based on the previous run, when the action does kick off, it'll be worth the wait.

Supreme Power - I'll agree that Straczynski's run on Amazing Spider-Man has lost it's luster, but he continues to knock it out of the park on this book. Gary Frank's art (another incredible artist) really helps pull this book off. Highly recommended.

Any of the above titles will send me scrambling to my comic shop. I read a few other books, but they can wait until I have to go pick up one of the above.

    Other books I'm reading:
    Teen Titans
    100 Bullets
    Powers
    Daredevil
    Ultimate Fantastic Four
    Ultimate Spider-Man
    Ultimate X-Men
    Superman/Batman
    New Avengers

Books I'm reading that are on the chopping block:
Amazing Spider-Man - it really has slipped since Romita Jr. left.

Uncanny X-Men - checked it out again when Claremont took over with Alan Davis. Sadly, Claremont no longer has the magic. And Davis just isn't right for these characters. Plus, the whole "X-cops" concept sucks!

JLA - I thought it might be going somewhere when Busiek took over writing this book. Unfortunately, it's going south. I sure wish Mark Waid would get back on this one.

Superman - I really enjoy Azzarello's writing on other books, but he's really let me down on this one. Jim Lee's art still looks great, but I'm bailing on this title as soon as Lee wraps up his run.

I collect the Ultimates too! Yeah Brian Hitch is great, he is the main reason I buy it. I have all the issues of it so far.

Where did you order it from? It came out in early December, which was when I got mine. If you order it from http://www.steveniles.com/store.htm, I believe you'll get free shipping but you have to pay via PayPal.

The Rock might be okay, he is a bit too bulky to play the surfer though I think.

Is there a Daredevil 2 movie coming out this year? Who is playing DD?

Spidey always has been and will always be my main man. If they should ever get Lynch or Cronenberg to direct a Spidey flick, the "Fearful Symmetry" storyline from the early 90's would make a great (and creepy) adaptation.

Actually Raimi might be good too given his experience with (albeit campy) horror flicks.

Spidey was my favorite, until I saw the Spider-Man movie. I really hated it. Mainly because of Tobey Maguire, I can't believe Spidey is such a goofy weakling like Tobey. I could kick his ass when I was 12. Tobey ruined Spidey for me really.

I read that Fearful Symmetry story, I can't remember it now though. What was it about?
