Default The interviews AVH & Hagar did...

I was wondering if anyone saved one of the interview/articles that AVH & Sammy did during the tour.

It's one where AVH makes a statement about Ed overcoming his cancer. If my memory serves me correctly, Alex mentioned something about how for a while they thought they'd lose Ed, or that he was a 50/50 chance of defeating the cancer. (Or something like that).

If anyone could provide a link of paste the article or an excerpt that's be great.

    Thanks a lot.

I already found the quote I was looking for.

If anyone's interested, this is a quote Alex made about Eddie's battle with cancer:

"I can't speak entirely on his behalf, but he showed bravery and fortitude. He never gave up. There were days when I didn't know if I was going to have a brother a year from then. He went through that and came out the other end stronger for it.

"Whether that character was always there or developed along the way, I can't say. I just accept it and don't question it. When you make it through something like that, it definitely adds a lot to your arsenal. When he's ready to talk about it, he will."

    Yeah,

I think Ed's battle with cancer was worse than what the public knew.

I'm sure it was worst than we know. Would you really want every detail of your battle made public though? I wouldn't so I agree that only releasing optimistic details

Eddie has had some tough times, but he seems like he's a tough fucker. I hope he can break free of the demon(s) that are haunting him right now, because he seems like a bit of a lost soul. Alcohol will do that to a person though.

By re-reading Alex's comments, I gather that he is just letting Eddie enjoy whatever he is doing right now. And right now it appears that Eddie is enjoying life and is just having his own personal party everyday and getting drunk. The man has always been an alcoholic, but this from the far outside seems like its his worst stint ever.

The time has to come soon for Al to step in and get Eddie help before another traumatic health concern pops up. Or even the ultimate in death.

I think that Sammy feels for Ed and understands just what he is going through and thats why he is (as we believe) still in Van Halen. I'm sure he and Alex have had discussions regarding Ed's state and both in time will intervene if necessary. Maybe Ed told them that he will seek help, but for now just to leave him alone as he goes through whatever he is going through.

This is all speculation and maybe this topic needs to be in that correct forum?
