You know the best tone I ever had was with that little bandmaster cranked to 10. Edward Van Halen, 1980, Guitar Player Magazine.

    Since you asked.

You guys don't suck, it just doesn't traslate well into playing well to drunk people at a club. While I'm not going to run out and buy your latest disc, the few minutes I took to listen to the song on the net seemed like time well spent. Would I run down to a club to hear you guys live. Probably not, but that doesn't mean you suck.

The recording sounds good....the instrumentation is cool.....needs a hook for me to get into it. The vocals kind of remind me of Talking Head/ Modest Mouse thingy going, not my thing, but works well within' the context of the tune.

Your music isn't "pop" so it doesn't relate to the majority of folks out there. I am on my 3rd listen right now, and I want to hear more from you guys, so that's a good thing.

    Who recorded you guys?
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Sounds good to me, certainly good enough to play stupid clubs, my god.

We've played the Troubador years ago and all we had at that time was some shitty 4-track recording we carried around and got the gig. So it has nothing to do with the quality of the recording.

I don't know, definitely sounds polished and good enough to be getting shows man. I've heard miserable-sounding bands get decent shows here.

Thanks. I'll add more, and if you go to our site, you can actually watch us play live. I know, it's a quicktime file, so I apologize.

Boise Idaho is not a place to draw folks for indie rock. That's for sure. With a band with wives, jobs and kids, there's not a lot of travel opportunities.

    Thanks fellows.

Good rythm section, vocals need serious work, but I wouldn't say you sucked.
Unless you're doing a lot of covers most clubs don't want to have anything to do with you.
You usually have to slip your originals in inbetween covers untill or unless you're signed. People who go to bars to drink and dance usually want to hear something they recognize.
Have you tried some of the indy clubs?
You might get a better reception there.

Don't even need to hear the sound clip to give you your answer. It doesn't matter whether you suck or not. It doesn't matter whether or not you play originals or covers. You just don't know enough people. The only thing that matters to the club owners is if they are selling lots of booze and making money at the door.

I've seen bands in my local area that get booked every weekend absolutely butchering cover tunes. The thing that these hacks have in common is that they have a large group of friends that will follow them to every bar they play at.

Don't worry man, I'm sure you guys are fine. You can build a following if you just keep getting out there and let people hear you. You are going to have to do benefits, open mic nights, and really cheap gigs for a while, but it will get you exposure. The more people that hear you, the better off you are.

    Default One more tune then

Thanks for the listening of our tunes online. I've added another, this time with a little hookier twist.

    enjoy.
