    Default Wesley Willis...madman and/or genius?

He definitely had a formula he stuck to with his, uh compositions. Cracks me up every time I hear him, read his lyrics or see a piece of his artwork.
    He certainly wasn't for everyone.

Genius! Rock on London. Rock on Chicago.

Opie and Anthony used to play his songs from time to time. My favorites are Rock & Roll McDonald's and Kill Whitey.

Casper the Homosexual ghost rocks!...I think.
"I'm sorry that I got fat"

A friend of mine was big into him, wound up with over one thousand WW mp3s on his computer, I guess the guy had well over that.

I'm pretty sure he was actually mentally handicapped.
So to answer the question, pure fucking genius!

    "Aaallaanniss Morrissette!, Aaallaanniss Morrissette!"

"Rock n Roll Mac Donalds!, Rock n Roll Mac Donalds!"

    Classic.

    That's because it's the Jamie's Cryin riff!

Yes, Wesley had some mental troubles. He had schizophrenia, and many of his songs were a result of the voices in his head speaking out. I met him and he seemed pretty happy, though. He headbutted me five or six times.

I play in band called The Shazam. We were Wesley's opening act many times. Strange, because we're a fun rock-n-roll band not unlike the kind that most people here would like. Not the kind of band that would open for Wesley Willis. Most of the tours were in a bus. There was a two week tour in a van. I got 37 headbutts in two weeks. I still don't know what to think about Wes' music. He could make you uncomfortable at times(like cussing out his demons at full volume in a restaurant), but was a total sweetheart. I saw Wes take off his shirt on stage in Moblie(yecchhh!), and was present for his last show, which we opened, in Minneapolis at 7th street entry. We were lucky enough have a song written about us-"The SHazam can Rock,The Shazam can Roll" and we apparantly whip a Sable Palamino's ass. At the time it was all a little unnerving, but in retrospect, how many people can say they rode in a van for two weeks with Wesley Willis? Madman or Genius? I'm still not sure........................

    www.theshazam.com for anyone who cares.
