I'm a Jedi man myself. Jabba's palace. Carrie Fisher in the gold bikini. The end-game duel. The Super Star Destroyer colliding with the Death Star. The Tie swarm coming at Lando and the fleet when they figure out it's a trap (come on, first time you saw that in the theater, you were like, "holy fuck." The speeder bikes through the forest. I can even handle the Ewoks.

Critically, film-wise, Empire rules all, but Jedi's got the sentimental vote. Still, didn't like the new DVD addition of Hayden at the end instead of the old guy.

Empire.....I'm reading lots of good stuff about ROTS, but it would have to really rock to top ESB.

Damn, so hard to choose but for effects I would have to say Jedi but ESB is a VERY, VERY close second.

My favorite scene (besides Fisher in her gold bikini in Jedi) has to be Yoda kicking some Dooku-ass in AOTC. I mean Dooku got his ass whipped by a ~2 ft tall green dude...

If we're talking favorite scenes, mine would have to be Han shooting first like it was supposed to have been!

Jedi. So far the new movies aren't worthy of licking the ballsack of the original trilogy.

    Empire Strikes Back.
When I bought the DVD set that was the first one I watched. That movie still amazes me after all these years. Just awesome.

    The official nerd thread.

Mine would be Empire too....although the orginal is pretty close. Watched it the other day for the first time in a while. I still got goose bumps when Han comes in and blast's Vader's ship to save the day.

Who here actually likes the "special editions"?
I don't mind some of the eye-candy that was added. My biggest complaint has to be the "Greedo shot first" fiasco.

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Ditto here, bro. I was having fun watching all the new additions until I saw that nonsense. Shit, one of the things that made Solo cool was that he was a BMF who'd lay your ass to waste if he even suspected that you were gonna try to do him first. He was a gunfighter....a space cowboy if you will. Doc Holliday of the stars, not fucking Clark Kent.

And my fave movie is Empire as well. The dark tone, the action, the sense of dread and urgency, the massive sets, and even the acting was far superior to any of the other films. I'm scratching my head as to why Lucas didn't use that director again.
