    Donny Osmond - Too Young

It was one of those 12 records for a nickle, record club deals. My brother got a Sonny & Cher album. This was 1971/72

First album I bought with my own money:

Sammy Hagar Live, All Night Long

Don't remember it that well the title but I remember my mom got me and my sister "The Flintstones read Goldie Locks and the Three Bears" and she recorded it to tape.
The question is not, "Does love exist?"
But when she leaves, where she goes?
I got the feelin' she don't know either
Wait like the wind, watch where she blows

My folks got me Donny albums when I was 11 or 12...hehe! I had a big thang for him back then!

In Jr. High and High school it was a big deal to go out and buy the 'Hits' on 45's. I had a huge stack of 'em. They're still around here somewhere...
with the likes of Elton John and Kiki Dee's- 'Island Girl', Bread - 'Horse With No Name', some Beach Boys...man...I had quite a mix. This was in the transition phase...before I started to get into rock...

I think the very first real 33 1/3 RPM RECORD I ever bought in a record store was Fleetwood Mac...'Rumours'.

I also joined that Columbia House Records deal...12 for a penny...then you got the record of the month every month if you wanted it. I got most of my vinyl from that club. Stayed in it for many years. Not a bad deal!

Destroyer, KISS. I was 5 or 6 and my mom gave me $10 to go into K-mart to get my dad a birthday present. I wound up buying Dad something and getting Destroyer for me. When Mom asked for the change I gave her, like, a dime and a penny or something like that. Man, did I get in trouble!

    Kept the album, though.

I was like 8 or 9 years old and I saved up all the money from shoveling snow and doing chores and I got this album because I wanted "The Dukes of Hazzard" theme song. I got to Kmart and was so excited that I just grabbed the record and we went home......only to find that the fuckin song's not even on the album

So my first REAL LP purchase as a music lover (at the ripe old age of 12 ):

About a week after that my needle broke and I was back to the radio until I could save up to get a new needle.

Hey man, it was pretty devestating to a little Dukes fan......

There are some classic REAL country tunes on that album though....

Hey, maybe I can write a country tune about my mishap....

    (some slide and banjo playing)

"I went to Kmart to buy Waylon...
    Instead, Shoulda picked Van Halen
    Got home to rock out......
    What's this all about?
    Songs about beer......
    What is happening here?
    I thought I'd scooooored......(dramatic pause)
But the Fuckin Duke's song ain't even
    .....on the recooooooord......"
