    Default Boss Harmonist Pedal... Help.

Before the board went bad, there was discussion on the Boss Harmonist HR2's detune setting in obtaining a sound similar to an Eventide (MK5?). Well, I picked one up and through the effects loop nor direct into the front of the amp (guitar - HR2 - amp) can I get a decent sound. I am running this mono. Anyone have thoughts on this and can tell me how they are running it to obtain the detune sound?

    Thanks
    Chris

How do you have it set? Set everything at 12 o'clock thru the effects loop, even the mix pots. From there, I'd sit down with F.U.C.K. or Balance and adjust the mix to taste. Also, what amp are you running it with?

EDIT--I just went to HC and found a pic of it. Try setting the Key in "A" (as in A=440). Make sure both pitch pots are on the "DT" function. Then, again, adjust the "mix" to taste. If you have it set right, it should give you that chorus sound without the sweep, reminiscent of Ed's 90's tone.

How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?

It's a Marshall AVT50 amp. I have both straight up. The key knob doesn't really do anything in this mode. However, since this is running in mono, the 'b' mix knob doesn't do anything.... I'm kind of wondering if that's the problem (not a stereo amp).

I'm going to revive my own old thread on this...

Do you need to amps/cabinets for the harmonist to work?? Is this what I am doing wrong (ie, will the detune effect not really work with one amp/cabinet?)?

    Thanks
    Chris
