what don't you get? They tried to cash in on the Shock Rock genre, consisting of Alice Cooper. Kiss, early Crue, Twisted Sister, etc. They just sucked at it. Come to think of it, none of those bands wrote great songs. It was all about the theatrics.

Blackie has a killer voice - that unholy rasp that defined metal. Just had an Axl Rose-sized ego and, as a result, surrounded himself with subpar musicians. At a time of guitar gods, Randy Piper and Chris Holmes were never going to elevate them enough.

I defy anyone to listen to this and think it's weak and talentless. They may not like it (there's no accounting for taste) but they can't dismiss it - not unless they're letting their animosity rule their critical thinking.

    All great tunes.
    I'd add;
    Sleeping in the Fire
    Tormentor
    Animal (F*ck Like a Beast)
    The Torture Never Stops
    L.O.V.E. Machine
    B.A.D.

    Etc.
I always liked Wasp, and they were one of the first metal bands I was exposed to.

"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.

great? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I can listen to some of them but none of them would I consider "great."

Even Blackie himself, in concert when he accidentally lit his hair on fire or something said something along the lines of: "if we wrote better songs we wouldn't have to do this shit."

Unless you've been official named Arbiter of Great Metal, your opinion is just your opinion.

I'm not saying he's a genius but there's plenty of self-deprecating musical gods out there who've said the same. He was rolling with an embarrassing situation not passing thoughtful reflections on his career so it's hardly proof.

Like I said, you don't rate and don't think they did great tunes. I disagree and listed some. Everyone's good.

I would take WASP over Motley Crue and any other hair metal band anytime.
They just have better tunes and albums than others.
