Is there any chance, since Spring just began, that Eddie and Al won't pass this once in a lifetime tour up?
That they will see how magical they can make this for us fans?
Is there any chance that Sam went to Mike with the idea, then made the big move and called Dave and now Dave and Sam and Mike will make the pitch to Eddie and Al and all will be forgiven and the dream tour will happen this summer or fall, with new music by sammy and dave with Van Halen?
Anyone thinking this, or have we all given up hope and we'll wait til next year for VH at the Hall of Fame?
Damn, it would be incredible.
What an ending. The most important hour is always the present. The most significant person is precisely the one sitting across from you right now. The most necessary work is always love.

They will not be joining the tour this summer because 1. It was not their sole idea. 2. They would not be in complete control of the tour. 3. Did I mention it was not their idea?

So you're saying that Van Halen wouldn't accept if asked because they didn't think of it first and they can't control it?
I hear ya.
I hope they do get asked and I hope they do accept. But i guess its a lonnnnnnng shot. The most important hour is always the present. The most significant person is precisely the one sitting across from you right now. The most necessary work is always love.

Its funny though, even though I dont think VH will be joining the tour this summer, the main reason people thought a Dave/Sammy tour couldnt happen was because they couldnt get along. Since that no longer is a problem Id say the chance of it maybe happening later on down the road is always possible, maybe for RnR Hall of Fame.
Now the only thing I see making it different is if they couldn't pull it off with VH, but could with their solo bands.

I don't know how VH can do much of anything right now, well alone this summer!
Hell, Mikey is out hanging and recording with Hagar & Planet US - so he's all tied up this summer!
Anyways, VH cannot do shit right now. They don't have a clue who their singer is.
Let's face it.....we have a better chance of seeing STAR WARS Episode 3 (in 2005) before VH gets off the toliet!

I really dont see this happening at all.
I am beginning to wonder if Ed and Al are really very healthy. The boys just dont seem eager to show themselves at all.....
It would be really kool though.

Something like that is only going to happen on one night - at the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Induction. There's just way too many chefs in that kitchen to sustain a tour.
HOWEVER, I will mortage the house to get tickets to next year's ceremony. Could this be magic?

Well, at least the Hall of Fame is only a year away...
IF they get in, right?
Too bad they just don't cave in and record with Dave and Sam now, tour in the Fall with a big farewell box set with both singers.
I think we've come up with so many good scenarios for VH, so creative and magical, and yet they haven't done anything.
Except write (and record?) 3 cds worth of music. The most important hour is always the present. The most significant person is precisely the one sitting across from you right now. The most necessary work is always love.

I really think they could join the tour this year.
I think Dave in his era and Sam in his era ran a lot of the business side and were both very successful with public relations and making and keeping the band on top! When Ed took over after dropping the bottle - the band went straight into the shitter business wise. If Dave and Sam are planning this the band could and should go back to the way it used to be and the way it possibly works best- with Dave and Sam doing the public relations and Ed, Al and Mike doing some of the world's best MUSIC!!!!!
