Love the classics.....from Drama to 90125, but man oh man did the Trevor Rabin era rock the planet.

    "Suck a fat one, faggot."
-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

"You know what's weird to me is Christians who are against the death penalty. After all, if it weren't for the death penalty, we wouldn't celebrate Easter!"

I found 90215 and Big Generator to be more accessable to my tastes, but I do like some of the old stuff. Got to see them at Madison Square Garden for free on the "90215 Tour". Awesome show! Awesome night!

Saw them at the Greek in '95 for the Talk tour. First thing I noticed that at 25, I was the youngest one there. The people I met there were cool enough but one asshole noticing my age piped up, "Shouldn't you be at a Guns N Roses concert?"
"No....because I know that Jon Anderson will actually show up for this," I replied.

Was a great show with no opener. Getting to see "An Evening with" any band you l happen to like a treat that comes around far too rarely. Just wish they would put out a DVD of that tour.....or even the Union tour.

I love Yes! I first got into them when I stole a a tape of Classic Yes from my friend's dad (sorry, Robbie! Actually...sorry, Ray). I took it because I liked the cover. When I got home I popped it in to listen to it and it was set right to the beginning of "Starship Trooper". I dug it...it was different. I recognized "Long Distance Runaround", "Roundabout", and "I've Seen All Good People" and realized I'd stolen a pretty good album.

I can't even name any other prog bassists, let alone denote whether or not they're fat!

maybe fat isn't the best word....larger than life?

i'll name two who come to mind first:

John Wetton- King Crimson.....Uriah Heep......maybe some will know him as the guy in Asia. though, he did loose some weight.

Greg Lake- Emerson, Lake and Palmer... King Crimson...
but then again, since they have more money than i'll ever have, who am i to comment on their weight?

Went to see Yes and Peter Frampton yesterday at the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, OK. Lucky Star has all their shows in this huge tent that fits about 2,000 people; it's not always up...they only put it up for shows. It is built to withstand winds up to 80 MPH.

Yesterday, we had some thunderstorms and high winds. At the tail end of one of those rain bursts, there was a wind burst. it got inside the tent and lifted it up. The tent lifted and went sideways, which caused the stage to collapse. Six people were hurt. None of them seriously, but I think one of them was Steve's tech and one was Yes' merch lady.

Frampton tweeted about it, so you can see pics of the damage. I'll post some tonight after work.
