C'mon now....plenty of people were passionate about the whole Peter vs. Phil vs. Ray thing before the "hacking holocaust". There are Genesis fans out there, I know it.

If Genesis EVER reforms, who will the singer be?

I'm fond of that one too, despite it being one of the most hated.

    "Too commercial....too pop"....

This album came out in my senior year of high school, and brings back some fantastic memories. It's not my favorite, but for its time it was a fun tape to listen to. Caught their show on this tour at Dodger Stadium. Phil Collins is a funny guy when given the chance.

He tells the audience to close their eyes and by the sheer power of will, we'll all levitate the stadium over Los Angeles. "There's probably a guy sitting next to you weating an alligator shirt saying 'Oh, I'm too fucking cool for this'!"

Was a great time. I miss this band!

I saw them on the "Calling All Stations " tour in Germany and I have to say that that was one of the best sounding concerts I've ever been to!
(Well, I did see Rammstein the night before so maybe that had something to do with it!)

Although I didn't bother going to see VH in 2004, this is one tour I would not want to miss...

The two message boards I frequent daily are the van halen board and the genesis board (although if more bands had GOOD boards I might go to them too). and on the genesis board all I've ever heard is Peter isnt interested in the past. Plus he's working on his own stuff. I'd be very surprised if he just had a sudden change of heart.

I hear you 100%, but I was shocked when I saw it myself... It's on today's AH show...

The Gabriel and Collins fans are as split and rabid as Roth and Hagar fans...
Ray Wilson was their Cherone... <LOL>

I'd go see a Ray Wilson show in a hot minute over a Cherone show. Wilson is a fantastic musician and vocalist.

I like both VH3 and Calling All Stations. and would've liked to have heard another album from both lineups. By coincidence I'm actually currently listening to Ray Wilson's debut solo cd Change. Which is a great album.

and I never compared the two bands but that's pretty good. I just never though about it.

    Agreed!

"Cool Water", "Goodbye Baby Blue", and the title track are just friggin masterpieces.

I need to feature some of that album on my Jukebox show.

Phil Collins says open to Genesis reunion

    2 hours, 34 minutes ago

British singer and songwriter Phil Collins said on Sunday he would be open to a reunion of his old band Genesis, a day before he is set to perform in Israel as part of his what he calls his final tour.

"I'm open for it," said Collins, 54, the most prominent international music star to perform in Israel since the start of a Palestinian uprising more than five years ago.

"I'm happy to sit behind the drums and let Peter (Gabriel) be the singer. If (a reunion) happens, I'll be there. If it doesn't happen ... it would just be because there are too many things in the way," Collins told reporters in Tel Aviv.

Collins' concert on Monday in Jaffa, a quarter of Tel Aviv, is part of his "First Final Farewell Tour." He said that he would stop touring "soon" in order to be able to spend more time with his family, but would like to continue to record music.

Collins said he wasn't afraid in Israel, where Israeli-Palestinian violence has raged for more than five years, although attacks have largely decreased during the past year since a February truce. He performed in Lebanon a day earlier.

"I wish it wasn't like this," Collins said of the conflict. "I sit and watch stuff on the television, I think, 'Why, why, why."'

Groups like progressive rockers Jethro Tull, boy band Westlife and metal bands Megadeth and the Scorpions, have performed in Israel during the uprising. Other artists, such as Madonna, have canceled planned concerts, though she visited Israel last year on a Kabbalah pilgrimage.

The progressive rock group Genesis formed in 1967 and were internationally successful for more than 30 years. Collins, the band's first drummer, took over as singer after Gabriel quit the group in 1975 to become a solo artist.

Collins left in 1996 to concentrate on his own solo career having already scored solo hits in the 1980s with "Against All Odds" and "In the Air Tonight."

After a shuffle of band members, including an Israeli drummer, Genesis finally called it quits in 1998.

One of my few regrets is having to choose other thing over going to see genesis on the Abacab tour..and ive never seen them. One of my alltime fav bands, i like them with Phil slightly more than Pete, but love both.

There''ll always be lots of Genesis throughout my music collections
