    Default Official Linkin Park thread

OK billy, I can hear you

So, what do you think about the guys? I liked them from their first album and support them to the day, because of several reasons - first of all, they are original, at least their debut albums didn't sound like anything on market when it came out. Secondly, they can sing, and what's more they can perform live not missing a note. Next, they don't have fithteen guitar players on stage like it's normal now, and still blow the crowd away with music. About music - I can hardly name a single 'modern' band which would be more talented then LP.

I admit that they're quite comercial and their tunes are kinda 'one way', but since I don't consider them hitting the level of Van Halen they're OK to me.

I dunno. I just think almost everything modern that I've heard sounds crappy.

So do I, I don't like neither grunge, neither nu-metal. I don't like LPs lyrics as well (kinda boring to hear how the singer is being pushed away or how he's wanna run away in every song), but c'mon, are they worse than Chilly Peppers ?

I don't listen to RHCP, but they're actually pretty decent in context.

No offense bundy and janthraxx, but if u dont like the band, then y r u reading a thread about them? I honestly like them because i really think the singer Chester Bennington is an awesome singer. Their "MC" guy Mike Shinoda i really dont care for, but he seems to be the mastermind behind the band, so i respect him a lot for that. Actually i take that back, shinoda brings an element to the table that gives them their sound. Linkin Park is THE rap/rock band. They do it better then anyone else. Just listen to Hybrid Theory. Its an awesome album. Reanimation was weak, they took the Rap/Hip Hop approach and tried to make money on the same songs by just "remixing" popular songs. Meteora was a dissapointment, but that is only because Hybrid Theory was so great. Just my .02 and i believe its actually worth less then that......

    Give the guy a break?!

I'm not a fan of LP,but i'll give them credit for that song "Crawling".It has a nice vibe to it.But I'd take them over Red Hot Chili Peppers though.
The question is not, "Does love exist?"
But when she leaves, where she goes?
I got the feelin' she don't know either
Wait like the wind, watch where she blows

I agree. Chess is a very decent singer, despite his voice is so terribly over-drived and distorted when performing live.

It's Chester Bennington that keeps me going back to these guys. Meteora is a great album from them and for what it's worth. "Numb", "Breaking the Habbit" and "Somewhere I Belong" are all good memories of when I saw them at the "Summer Sanitarium" tour 2 years ago. As for the rest of the band, everybody from the guitar player to Mike "Choda" is a complete panty waste. The music (with the exception of some cool sound FX) is very poorly written. Again, Chester's voice is what appeals to me with that band and makes me like them as much as I do, which is quite a bit.
