    Hey, Wear Your Damn Seat-Belts!!!

I just learned that a woman that I went to highschool with was killed last weekend when she lost control of her car on a slick road and crashed into a tree, she was ejected from the car and killed.

Had she been wearing her seatbelt she'd still be alive.

No rant nneded, the above statement say's it all.

    Belt up, people!

Your so right Ax, such a senseless death. It still amazes me how many people that still don't buckle up. It seems where I live now, in a more rural area, it's even worse. I've seen woman driving while holding small children and even babies on their lap.

Dale sorry to hear about your friend.

Nothing IRKS me more than seeing little children without seatbelts on or not in a car seat. How fucking dumb do you have to be to not buckle your kid up??

If your stupid enough to not buckle your seat belt then thats your deal but to not buckle your kids up!!!

I'm getting worse and worse about that damn belt. One of these day's I'm either gonna get cited or just do a Peter Pan straight through the windshield.

I ALWAYS wear a seatbelt. Even if I'm in the back seat. I always make it a point to wear one. I just can't go without one and feel totally comfortable. But then again, that just may be my sisters driving!!

Ya know, I got clipped a few months ago for a seatbelt violation. That law, being an actual "law" always pissed me off. I'd find myself not wearing it just out of protest. :stupid:. Well, the traffic court said I could get it dropped and kept away from my record if I were to go to some stupid class. I went in with a pretty big chip on my shoulder and a big fat attitude. They pissed me off right off the bat by saying if your cell phone rings, they keep it. I'm like "you can suck my dick if you think youre keeping my fucking cell phone bitch". I mean, these are volunteers giving this class, who do they think they are? Anyways, that really did piss me off, but I left the class humbled by the photos and stories they told. I'm the last one to enjoy admitting that the system broke me down, but they got me.

I've worn my seatbelt ever since. It's truly stupid not to.

I was in my early twenties when the seatbelt law started making it rounds from state to state, and had the hardest time remembering to put it on, and really didn't like it at all. After getting transfered to the naval base in Charleston SC, the Marine guards at the gates wouldn't let you on or off the base unless you were buckled. That coupled with the navy stating they weren't paying your life insurance if you were killed in an accident while not buckled, finally made it habit with me. Now I feel funny with out it.

Myself and my kids have alwas worn them. The rub starts when I take other peoples kids to school and they dont attempt to put one on... "I dont have to wear one with my mom and dad"... well my car dont move until they do.

I dont know about the law in the state but an adult is legally responsible for him/herself but with the kids, it's the driver who get prosecuted.. big style..

I only had to bounce my head off the steering wheel once (at a slow rate of speed) to get the hint.

All this talk about "buckle your kids up" our states and safety people do but they think nothing of sending a school bus 'round without a single seat belt to be found!

I was reading the local Indiana paper today, read a news article about how there was a crash last night- three people died, two small children in the back who weren't buckled up thrown free from the car during the crash. The are 7 and 3 years old, in critical condition, and their parents are now both dead.

The parents were apparently buckled up, but the kids weren't. God help them all. I have two small kids and stuff like this makes me want to cry, or scream, I don't know which.

In college, I had a little Ford Escort with automatic seat belts. My best friend would lean forward when he closed the door so the belt would go behind him.

One night we were driving around when a 16-year-old girl in a Mercury Comet blew a red light and T-boned us. My little Escort flipped and spun. Windows exploded. Sparks flew. We finally came to a stop, upside down, about 50 feet down the road.

And there were me and my buddy hanging upside down like a couple bats thanks to our seatbelts. (Thankfully, he had forgotton to lean forward to avoid the belt.)
