Rush showed up for the SARS benefit as well. Good to know they still want to help out their fellow humans in times of need.

Yup that's the one - titled SARStock DVD1. It's the actual footage from a few camera angles (ie not an audience boot).

My first Rush album was 2112. My first Rush concert was Hemispheres. What an experience for me that was. There I was a young teenager standing a few rows back right in front of Alex! Those 3 are awesome. I've had the honor of seeing them 4 more times since!

    Default Rush

Saw my 17th Rush show last year at Radio City in NY. Fantastic! Still my favorite band after 25 years of listening.....VH comes in a close second. The musicianship is second to none in the rock world.

Man, very tough to say. Each tour/show has it's share of highlights. Although, with the Vapor Trails tour, and all the emotion of seeing them live again after a very long break, coupled with the whole Neil situation, I'd say I really enjoyed that tour. And seeing them last year at Radio City was sweet too. Historic venues seem to enhance many shows.

I think there is a VERY nice bootleg video of that one floating around.

Anyone catch them on CBC for the Tsunami relief (http://wwcanadaforasia.com)

That bootleg video is on easytree as well (recorded by yours truly).

I remeber I was pretty young at the time, junior high I think. Spirit of radio was brand new, and they were playing it on the radio all the time. The first thing I thought, was Man, who is that drummer? Then when I began to really get into them, my older sister took me to the Big Money tour. Wow, I was so blown away. Great memories, no dought!

Vapor Trails Remaster, what's the deal?:
Apparently Atlantic Records has once again delayed the release of the Vapor Trails Remaster. Although Atlantic's Rush page still offers it for sale, those that preordered the item from Atlantic's site received the below email just yesterday:

"Thank you for ordering from Atlantic Records Online store. Unfortunately, Vapor Trails-Remastered, is no longer available for sale and has been canceled from your order. Be assured that you were not billed for the order as it never shipped to you. It is our policy not to bill for items until they have shipped. Again, our sincere apologies and thank you for your understanding. We hope that you visit us again." - Email from Atlantic Records, May 16, 2005

Problems with the original release were chronicled in this article written shortly after its original release. What has been confirmed is that the album has been remastered.
The question is why is Atlantic delaying its release? - May. 17, 2005

I didn't even know there was a remastered edition coming out. Been out of the Rush loop for a while I guess.

Were the supposed to be extra tracks on it or something? I can't imagine buying a remastered version of a record that only came out a couple of years ago. Even then I'd be pissed off that I had to buy another copy of a new album because they decided to throw a couple new tunes on it.

I read that the overall production quailty was bad so they felt the need to remaster bringing it up to date something to do with the recording quality.

I'm suprised that the guys in Rush ever let Vapor Trails be released in the condition that it was in. The article from the Rush tribute site does a really great job of comparing the sound of Vapor Trails to other Rush albums.
"For the words of the profits, are written on the studio wall, concert hall - echoes with the sounds...of salesmen."

"Measure your coffin does it measure up to your lust?"

The sound on that album was so fucking unpleasing it wasnt even funny.

The songwriting on the album didnt bother me but the production made it almost unlistenable.
