I listen to a live Allman Brothers Band CD, "First Set", a lot when I'm cooking. Blue Sky, Southbound, Melissa....good stuff.

What the heck, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, "Pack Up the Plantation Live" is always a hoot.

Scorp's "Worldwide Live", Ratt "Out of the Cellar", Def Lep "High n Dry".......

Now this is a topic I can sink my teeth into. I am a serious BBQ er. Once I get home I will repost my most prized picture that died when the links went down....my new grill!

I don't believe there is one answer to this question. You have to ask a couple questions first.
What time of year is it?
What is the occasion/event (just dinner for the family or Father's day etc?)
    and the most important question:
    What are you cooking?

Father's Day (June) - Every year I cook the biggest Rib Steaks I can get my hands on. The weather is usually warm/bordering on hot so Jimmy BUffett is usually blasting out of the back yard stereo.

Mid-Summer Get togethers - I like to entertain hence my over stocked beer fridge. One weekend in the summer I have a bit of a Caribbean barbecue for friends (you are all invited) and I cook up a mess of jerk chicken with a homemade jerk sauce. The only music for this is obviously reggae with a heavy dose of Bob Marley. Start the day with "Jammin;" and end it with "Stir It Up" and for my loser friends without dates, "No Woman, No Cry"

Overall though if it is just me in the backyard barbecuing up dinner for the family on any given day of the week, I always have mixed CD's with Van Halen, solo Hagar and Roth handy. The spicier the meal the heavier the tunes.

A quick walk to the garage to the beer fridge and I am never without a cold bevy to help with the cooking process!

Can you tell I enjoy my BBQ/Music/Beer experiences?

Yep, Mountain Jam, Les Brers......the 2nd Set CD has a nice acoustic version of "Elizabeth Reed", perfect for candlelight, good friends and sticky fingers.
