Got if off of ebay for $600...There were some nice Bogner combos and even a Matchless, but I couldn't blow the dough before the holidays...

tribb had a few reservations, but I'm really pleased with it. I'm not a heavy effects player anyhow, so I mainly use the bassman setting and the blues settings.

BTW, like Home said, we gotta catch up...Great seeing you back on the ranch!

That's the one that was built by a dude out in TO. It's a mahogany bodied EVH basically. The body template was made from an original EVH and the neck is pretty much the same profile as an original EVH except it's a bit fatter and has huge Dunlop 6100 frets in it. It's loaded with a Seth Lover in the neck, a duncan single in the middle, and a Breed (which probably will be replaced by another Seth) in the bridge. It has an original floyd in it and a nitro finish. It is by a landslide the best sounding and playing guitar I've ever owned or played. It's as close to perfect for me as I think I'll ever get.

Mahogany, huh? That's not a wood you see get used much...How would you characterize the sound?

Actually, those frets are Dunlop 6000's, bigger than the 6100's, and the mahogany body has a "secret" ingredient.

Wolfman, you labelled your 74 marshall head as being a "74 plexi "
Has it got a plexi mod?

Cough Cough, Les Paul anyone? It's big, warm and woody, extremely natural sounding. It does have a little mojo thrown in there to brighten it up a bit but I'm sworn to secrecy on that bit.

I also just picked up a Ibinhad 520QS which is also a mohogany body.

Does anyone have a bit of space on their web server to host a few of my gear pics?

Hey SEA - thanks for the welcome back.

The purple wolfie is not a custom shop - it's a regular U.S. special, nothing big. Those did not come with the binding around the edge of the bodies.

Basically, there are a few Wolfgang models - the Wolf standard (has binding), the Wolf Special (no binding), the Wolf Flame Top Special (faux binding), and the Wolf Quilt Top Specials (faux binding), the last of which are imports. There are a few differences between these models, most notably the wood used for neck construction and fretboard, and the finish (or lack of) on them (U.S. models are unfinished and oiled, whereas the imports have low-gloss polyurethane finishes).

Custom shop Wolfies can have all sorts of differences from production models, as you were able to choose your body wood, top, neck wood, fretboard wood, inlays, custom paint jobs, blah blah blah. I hear these are going for some pricey rates on ebay these days right now, now that Ed has left Peavey. My personal opinion is that you will see thoise sell for top dollar for a while, whereas the production models will be much more affordable. When Ed left Music Man/Ernie Ball, his guitars from there were (and still are ) highly sought after and steep in price. Justifiably so, because they were much , much better quality guitars and had lower production numbers (the Peaveys were mass-produced with import models added, which is one reason I think Ed left them, IMO.)

That's it in a nutshell. Feel free to ask any other questions, and I'll cover what I am knowledgable about. I'm sure there are dudes here that can add things that I miss as well.

Thanx for the info.. god, there's a lot to know here. I'm trying to get up to speed here as my boyfriend is a collector (tho he plays them all) and my daughter had just started to play. He has 4 wolfies, 3 first year quilts and a flametop. All of which have the cream edging (binding). These ones have patent pending on the headstock, right????

As for the EBMM, as a musician he also praises them higher than the Wolfie, (he has 11 ) My daughter wants one now cos the size is easy for her smaller hands to handle... yeah... right!!

To me, they're both beautiful guitars.

I don't tknow why you're asking Wolfman. He doesn't even really own a guitar. He works in a music store so when he's on lunch the boss lets him take pictures of the guitars, and then he posts them, saying yup this one's mine, and this one's mine.
