    Velvet Revolver

Love this band and always checked out new posts about them at the "old place".

My big regret for 2004 is not getting to see them on either occasion that they were in town. But there may be a consolation prize. A friend of mine caught them here in Houston in June. He said they filmed the show and said something about releasing a live DVD. Has anyone else heard anything about this? I so badly want to hear this band tear through "Sex Type Thing".

I played this album today for the first time in a long time (not very kid-friendly, you know?) and found it's grown on me!

I went to buy this the other day and I was at Wal-Mart and looked at it and it said "Edited" I thought "Fuck that!" I'll just order it from Amazon!

Axl Rose might as well never release Chinese Democracy. there is no way he is going to do better than Slash and the boys in VR

Contraband absolutely rocks. Definitely the best album of 2004. I play it constantly.

Same here, they were in Big D twice and didn't get to go to either. I really would like to see these guys, GNR and STP are both faves of mine and i'm a big Duff McKagan fan.

I was hoping to get their CD for xmas but I didn't..i'm going to have to get that bad boy here pretty soon.

Hopefully I'll get to see them live someday.

I don't think VR's debut CD lived up to the hype, but it's a decent album. There are some strong songs and some boring ones. Slash kicks ass and I've always liked Scott Weiland.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I listened to it the first time and was really blown away, but with time I just became bored with some of the songs on there. Especially songs 1-6. Up to Fall To Pieces alot of those songs start to sound the same after awhile. There's no real diversity in the material I think, and that's the only bad part about the cd. The great thing about STP for me were that they were so versatille. They could do jazzy, bluesy, folky, hard rock, ballads, the whole bit man. I didn't get that with VR and was left somewhat dissappointed. It is the best cd I've purchased all year, but I think the new Soul Sirkus might get more play from me. Neal Schon is so on fire on that album.
