Hey neighbor !

Well, even before the music starts, it's the closed Cabo Cantina curtain . But that's Sam.

Yea, the one waitress was hot, but it's just a way to get cheap applause. Same thing with the Tequila. He's got to make a big announcement that he needs a drink every other song and the crowd cheers like they've never seen anyone drink before....big deal....Dave didn't need a gimmick. Just played rock 'n roll for 90 minutes. Although I was surprised that he didn't do his usual chit chat in between songs or during...pretty much did everything just like the albums.....

Sammy's just having a good time... It isn't just advertising. He never even said the name of the tequila. It was a great f'n show all the way around.

ROTFLMFAO ! Yep 'Came home with some of those streamers in my pockets, a tangled mess of dollar bills, keys, streamers, cigarette packs (which one has that half a joint ?!)....lol

Our classic rock station here, WNCX, gave us a post-concert treat as well for the ride home. Cuts from the Pasadena Civic, circa 1977 !

I was listening to that. The show last night sounded better than the real Van Halen from 77. However, it was VERY similar. 25 years later.

Did Dave & Sam both keep their shows within the time restraints they advertised? How long did they each play for, and how long was the intermission before Dave?
"There's a Japanese term called wabi-sabi, not wasabi, but wabi-sabi. It means an appreciation for the imperfect, the less than precision. The cowboy boots that you never polish because it's bad luck. That is completely wabi-sabi. Van Halen is that." - DLR 2002<br /><br />"Look! I can see their parachutes! I think it's funny as hell that Sammy is selling Van Hagar shirts. That is great.

Sammys set was 90 min almost exactly.
Daves was just under 1hr 20min.
I never seen someone rip thru 20 songs in that time, Daves set had no lulls.
The ppl up behind the stage is old, actually never liked it to begin with.

Dave himself might even say he's the gimmick .
