if anyone went can you post a review I'm curious if he added any tunes or any special guests showed up since there was a "rumor" on the bros. showing up. I didn't know where to post this thread so I figured this would be cool.

OK here's a review thats posted at the VH yahoo group

Subject: [vh] Irving Plaza "Not 4 Sale" Show

Sammy....Mike....and Gary ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ROCKED NYC TO ITS CORE!!!
    From
his opening with Shaka Doobie Sam's vocals were extraordinary. He hit
    every
high note without screaming and it was just one of those nights where
    he was
totally on the money. Three Lock Box, Heavy Metal, Mas Tequila and Rock
    Candy
were especially good. Of course when Michael Anthony walked out onto
    the
stage the roof nearly caved in and he and Sammy ripped through Right
    Now,
Best of Both Worlds, Why Cant This Be Love and Finish What You Started
    (don't
remember the exact order). Everybody in the place were singing the
    songs word
for word....Sammy was smiling and looking over at Mona and Mikey
    shaking his
head in mock disbelief, he was loving the NYC crowd. After Mike left
    and
Sammy played some more of his solo and Montrose hits, Mikey and Gary
    Cherone
walked back on stage and the crowd EXPLODED!! They went right into
    "When its
Love" with Gary and Sammy sharing vocals....Can't even describe how
    cool that
was. Gary was wearing a red "Redrocker" Tour T-shirt and 20 minutes
    before he
sang onstage you could see him upstairs in the corner (Irving Plaza is
    a
pretty small venue) smiling and singing all the songs, he's definitely
    a
Hagar fan. They also played the Zep cover Rock and Roll and then
    finished
with Dylan's Everybody must get Stoned....Mikey lit up a joint and
    passed it
to Sammy during this tune and Sam held on to it, toked it and
    thoroughly
enjoyed it. It was definitely a joint as I was only a few rows back and
smelled that sweet bud. All in all a better show then you could ask
    for.

At one point during the show a Police Officer walked onstage and put an
    NYPD
shirt on Sammy as a show of appreciation for the supporting the Police
    and
Fire Departments. Sam thanked them for being "HEROES" which brought
    another
deafening cheer from the crowd. Only downside IMHO were that he didn't
    play
Red, Let Sally Drive, Marching to Mars or Eagles Fly. But the show was
outstanding. Sammy also mentioned that DLR didn't want to play these
    kind of
venues so Sammy said Fuck him....I'm doing this for the fans!!! Crowd
    was
screaming "Dave sucks, Dave sucks...kinda funny. In the end he thanked
    DLR
for the "55 shows they've completed, Its been a blast man." If you are
    a
Hagar or VH fan this was the show to see. Also Vic was outstanding
    blending
his own style into the guitar work without changing the texture of the
    songs,
    he was excellent tonight.

Thanks for posting the review. Sounds like everyone had a good time that was there. I didn't know that Gary was going to join them. I guess since it went well at the Great Woods show, why not NYC. I got a kick out of Mike lighting up a joint on stage. Wham Bam!

Sammy Hagar last night gave everyone at the show exactly what they came for a GREAT TIME. Sammy came on stage at midnight and opened with "shaka Doobie" and went on to play some great solo songs. Such as "heavy metal", "I can't drive 55" and also played some solo stuff i don't think he has played on this current tour. He played "high 'N dry" and "white lies", but the highlight was definatly when Michael Anthony took the stage. It was awesome to see him perform live on stage again doin' what he loves to do best. They burned trough some Van Halen tunes, and Mikey looked nice and tan after his two week vacation. Watching Mikey and Sammy on stage having a blast, brought some great energy to the crowd. I had the pleasure of Michael Anthony reaching down and handing me his beer, he is so fuckin' cool, and a moment i will always remember. During the encores Gary Cherone joined Sammy and Mikey on stage to sing "when it's love, "rock 'n roll" and Dylans "everybody must get stoned" and Sammy and Mike did not hesitate joining in by sparking up a couple of joints. As all that was goin' on Gary looked out for me as well by reaching down and handing me his beer. Overall it was just a memorable night that i will not forget. Sammy played for about an hour and 45 minutes. I wish i could just thank him for a great night of free music and not to mention a couple of beers. While Sammy was talkin' on stage we started chanting to Mikey to get Sammy back in Van Halen, he looked at us and smiled and said he will.I don't know what to make of it but i can only hope. Of all 5 times i have seen Sammy on this current tour this was definatly the best of them all. I guess the only thing i can do now is hope for a Van Halen reunion with Sammy, the fans want it and i know Mikey wants it as well. Let's keep our fingures croosed and hope for some good news in the future.

What can i say, sammy put on an awesome show.. I mean it was different from all the other shows he has done this summer.. Wow it was like one party.. And the waboritas sold there were damn strong hahaha.. I was pretty damn wasted, and it when make came on, it was insane.. Everyone was singing from the 1st song to the last song.. It was an incredible energy.. And as much as i don't like gary cherone.. That was a memorable moment, and i think the crowd loved it.. It was something that was a rare moment, and you don't see it often.. I mean sammy, mike, and gary all singing along.. And they were all having fun with it.. Gary was sporting a redrocker shirt haha it was soo like weird, but in a cool way.. Everybody must get stoned.. That was like a song you would never hear sammy play, and the crows was all lovin' it, and singing along.. It was a really cool vibe.. If dave would have done this show, it would of really been amazing.. You would of had every lead singer that was in the band up on that stage singing... It would have been the ultimate jam, but i know dave doesn't jam.. It would have been cool thou.. I mean he did mtv, was in nyc, he should of stopped over just to say hi to the audience.. But, it was an amazing night regardless.. The time went by soo fast, i was hoping for more, but it was a great time.. Sammy is def a party show! Wow is all i can say... Dave impressed me at pnc, he kicked ass.. And sammy was ok, but it didn't have the energy.. But, this show was insane.. I mean, this was defineatly the best show of the entire tour, and it was free! Wow, sounds like a blast. Too bad Dave was out hangin' with Linkin Park...lol. I dunno what to think, really. Dave is a one-man show and I just can't see him singin' "When it's Love," so maybe it wasn't his place. But, boy, Gary in two shows? Ya think he'll make it to the last two (tee-hee...I'm goin' to the last)? In his Extreme days, he is my favorite rock voice, honestly. He sounded pretty bad with VH, but he had his moments and I'd love to see Sammy, Mikey, and Gary all on stage. Wow, what a scene. Now, if we only knew what was keeping the rest of the band (and Dave) out of this togetherness, because honestly, we still don't know. Can't they all just get along? I'd pay lots of cash to see all three singers touring with Van Halen (Dave singing 10, Sammy singing 10, and Gary singing 5...with a duet with Sammy.) Give it ten years and Eddie's health may cause risks in his life...Just a little foreshawdowing, because ya know it's gonna happen...EDDIE GET OFF YOUR ASS!!!!

I know i see these guys all gettin along, and i'm thinking to myself.. "isn't eddie pissed off?" ya know.. I mean where the fuck is eddie, and alex.. Don't they miss performing, and making music.. I was listening to eddie trunk on my way into nyc, and everyone pretty much is saying that sammy is back in the band.. Don't get me wrong mike looked fuckin' happy as he could be.. Hell, happier than when he actually performed with Van Halen.. But i would hate to see sammy leave his band members.. They are kewl people.. Mona really rocks, and it would suck to see her loose that gig ya know.. I mean sammy made them into a band, and they have gotten a ton of exposure recently. To take it away, would suck.. But the chemistry is there with mike.. Whether or not it is there with the brothers, that yet remains to be seen.. But i think it would probably be better if dave went with van halen.. I mean, i'm a sammy fan, and a dave fan.. I'll be happy either way, but is it gonna appeal to the masses if sammy comes back.. Actually would it appeal to the masses if dave came back?? Who knows?? Eddie sat on his ass for too long.. Yes, i know he was sick, but seriously he can't bitch about being sick if he can smoke... I mean if he can light up a cigerette, and swing a golf club, the man can play the fuckin' guitar.. So, get with it brotha, cause all the other former member of yer band is making money on the music you helped create... Just my 2 cents..
