Sam needs to drop the cheese from the set-list and and some songs like.."Rock Candy" "Bad Moter Scooter" There are a couple others I can't think of off hand but it would really add some spice to the rice...Oh yeah, what happened to "Shaka Doobie"??? Howard Stern piss Sam off or what?? I'll take "Shaka Doobie" over "Give to live" any day...

I've seen Sammy 3 times before last night, and everytime he did 1 or 2 Montrose songs. He'll definately add some I think to his set, seeing 5150 for the first time in like 12 years was pretty cool though.

I've never been one to subscribe to calling any of Sammy's stuff "cheese" but if I were him, I'd really consider dropping some of those slower ballads.

Granted, I know he's got his hardcore fans there that want to hear "Eagles" and "GTL", but with some rabid Rothians in attendance, I think I'd be kickin' it up a few notches to show them I had what it took to also hold the reigns in VH. Drop in some classic Montrose, a lil' deeper cuts from MTM (ie: Salvation on Sand Hill) and some lesser played VH tunes like Judgement Day and Summer Nights (how could he NOT do this one since it's the lazy days of summer? ) and you've got yourself a REAL rock & roll party!

I can't really see Sammy adding any Montrose to his set list. This is there time to do Van Halen tunes. I consider Give To Live and Eagles Fly, partially Van Halen tunes. When the album came out he was with Halen and so the first time these songs were performed it was at a Van Halen concert. I was not disappointed in either of these two tunes being done.

I too like Give...& Eagles fly, but 'wouldn't call 'em VH tunes.
