That's a shame Romeo Delight isn't in there; I wish they would take out Jump and replace it with that. At least they got Unchained though; he didn't play it when I saw him in Philly.

LOL@Hain.....you're just saying that because that's been his setlist for that last couple tours.

Wonder which Sammy era songs he's gonna throw in there?

I would like to see him play AT LEAST 3-4 solo songs but Dave has the attitude of "You don't go to a Rolling Stones show to hear something off the new record, you go to hear em' do 'Jumpin Jack Flash' and 'Brownsugar'"

oh well, he's playing songs that I NEVER heard him play with Van Halen when I saw them live or Van Halen play with any of those other two guys.

Wow, Dave is suuuuch an unpredictable performer. Hey, remember when Dave used to do that stage rap in VH, "got a new album, got a new tour, got the same old shitty attitude!"??? Maybe now he can change it to "it's a new year, it's a new tour, got a new guitar player, but it's the same old tired setlist I said right here!!!"

Yeah, but on every one of the Stones mega tours since the late 80's they've presented new material. Sure you got to hear Start Me Up and Street Fightin' Man, but you also got to hear Flip the Switch, Saint of Me, Love Is Strong, You Got Me Rocking, Mixed Emotions, Sad Sad Sad, Rock and a Hard Place, Anybody Seen My Baby, Out of Control. The Stones have done an excellent job of catering to the masses while still not turning their back on creative growth.

Dave has just turned his back. It's sad to see the prevailing pro-Dave arguement which seems to boil down to "it's better than nothing". Sad because there was a time when Dave was better than anything!!

One other thing, GET ERUPTION OUT OF THE SETLIST!!!

That has absolutely no place in there. It's lame how heavily Dave is milking the VH era, but it's 100 times worse that he's featuring Eruption in his setlist. At least with the VH songs that Dave sang on, the arguement can be made that they're his songs, so he has every right to play them. But with a solo showcase like Eruption, that just makes Dave look like a lameass tribute band!

Preach it brutha! Get that shit outta the setlist already! See this is why in the early years they should accredited the individual song writer(s) with the song. Like Hot For Teacher written by Roth/EVH, or Runnin With The Devil - EVH/Anthony. Then I don't think Dave could have played this on a tour without permission.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. VH could play (for example) Summertime Blues live without getting permission from anyone. Even if a song was written by EVH alone, and was credited as such, Dave could still play it live without needing permission. Where he'd need permission would be if he wanted to put it on an album.

BTW, seeing "Runnin With The Devil - EVH/Anthony" cracked me up!!!

I dunno, I heard something saying that Prince doesn't let anyone play his songs live. And I just put EVH/Anthony because I thought of the bass riff at the beginning

I caught the whole show last night. We were about 100 feet or so from Dave, er, I mean the stage...

The crowd absolutely loved it. The band strikes a chord, and Dave comes out in a shiny GOLD suit, head to toe, with massive bell bottoms. The guy is a showman! Love him or hate him, all eyes were on Dave the entire time. He sometimes had the crowd in his palm even while not singing or talking. Just funny faces into the camera (which everyone could see on the Jumbo-Tron™.) His voice was good, it sounded every bit as good as the best recent bootlegs of him. Dave did all his classic moves, and certainly did not let the crowd forget that he has a penis. Dave's penis was really the second star last night. But I must say, the females in my party both mentioned that they were surprised how physically fit Dave appeared. Not that I really looked, but Dave's abs are cut. Not bad for ANY man approaching 50. He seemed really focused and intent on delivering a solid performance, which was cool. I saw DLR on the Skyscaper tour way back in the olden days, and I think he got too drunk that night... ah, well. The band was very tight, and Dave takes time out to mention all of them during the show. Brian is great, James is great, and Ray is fantastic! Ray, even in the last few songs of the night was throwing in tons of drum-pyrotechnics like he was just warming up! One thing that struck me is they don't really do "impressions" of Van Halen, like Beatlemania or something. The visual emphasis is obviously on DAVE. The band wore subdued clothing compared to Dave. There weren't really any "effects", just the standard lights - which worked fine. JUMP was the perfect encore - everyone was going nuts by that point. It was an eargasm.

I think I'll check out the Sam n' Dave tour, too, if it comes by Atlanta.

Chelle, give us a report on Brian's farewell party. Of course, I'll see you tonight at Peppers.

Those of you going to Peppers tonight, ask all the questions we have been dying to hear! You folks have been politically correct the last several outings. Time to ASK!!! Buy Mike sevaral rounds to loosen him up and then hit him up. Maybe you will get him to crack. <---you can either try this approach and get him and u buzzin and ask, or <---Use this method. Just break down like you are really upset and maybe he will feel sorry for you

I know on Dave's 2001 tour people were saying the same thing because people were putting "Eruption" on his setlist. Someone pointed out that Bart Walsh wasn't really doing "Eruption", but a guitar solo with only a couple of bars of "Eruption". Maybe someone can confirm this for Dave's show. Otherwise I agree, no call to do a copy of the entire solo.
