Things are quiet around here so I thought I would share some of my MP3's with you guys. Mostly stuff I did with Cool Edit Pro, its pretty good stuff for a cheap little multi-track. I used a high quality $7.00 mic and a screaming Crate 15 watt amp, you can check it out Here if you want.

LOL I don't have a kit so I downloaded patches for them, I agree its pretty bland. The only one that is normal is the Studio tune, on that one I just went in and recorded the solo material after the band had finished the tune, I didn't even meet any of the other players on it.

I was actually ok with the cheap microphone, to my great surprise.

I was surprised that you didn't lay a harmony lead in the godfather theme, you should do that in the second or third go round and build it up - maybe even some percussion. Try adding an accoustic to the arpegiated part too. It needs more mid range, it's very nasally. I realize the microphone is probably contributing to this.

The tuning was good but you sound like you are capable of tighter phrasing in some of the leads - it was a bit sloppy for your style of rock on the few things I listened to.

A great effort, keep recording. You might want to look into picking up a pawn shop Shure Sm-58 or SM-57, it would be the next logical step. You'd need some kind of stepping transformer with that too.

Thanks for the constructive critisism badkaraoke, I agree about the godfather thing, it could use some building and it would be cool to butcher it with a shredding solo. I mostly just slapped everything down in one take even though it was just so so, pretty much every recording was written and fully recorded in about 45 minutes. Its mostly a fun thing to do when I get bored, I suppose I should find something I really like and work on it for a while and get the right equipment.

Wow, I actually agree with BK on this one. Grab an SM57...good cheap and reliable microphone. And get a compressor.

    Good stuff!
