Penn is now crying because he says his stance on Iraq cost him a role. Man, I hope its true. I'm tired of these brainless morons getting to hollywood and coming out as ultra liberal to secure jobs. I would love to see a day when your PETA membership is not as relevant as your SAG membership.

LOL! It's about time one of those misguided liberal Hollywood morons got what they deserved for butting their noses into political business they know absolutely nothing about.

    Don't forget Richard Gere.
Oh yes. The list could go on and on. That was just who was next up to bat.

Gere got his during that vh1 9/11 concert last year when he was standing in front of a crowd of firemen and police officers in NYC (along with a few million people on tv) and got his sorry ass booed right the fuck out of the place because he said we should be concentrating on "peaceful alternatives" to bringing justice to the situation rather than looking for revenge and war for protection. What an odd and almost sureal thing to say to a room full of firemen etc. that were there to party and let loose a little bit after their buddies and 3000 other people got crushed to death in tons upon tons of rubble. This room wanted to fight and be avenged. Gere was a complete fool. I was really struck and in awe of his complete bafoonery and when one person started the first boo, I was estatic that he was getting the public shake down that he did. Good stuff NYC!! Oldie but Goodie...

Anybody remember the Ho-bag bitch of a woman, Jane Fonda, who went over to Vietnam during that war & spewed forth so much bull shit about the US attacking the "peaceful" Vietnam. I guess she never got a tour of the lovely Hanoi Hilton

Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

actors are kind of peculiar bunch.

notice how you NEVER hear an actor saying "so and so sucks in that movie?" they always say everyone is GREAT

I guess they're always scared that they may have to work with said sucky actor/director.

for some reason, this anti-war stance seems connected to that premise.

either that, or they don't want a war to mess up their movie plans

It's also odd how some actors *coughAlecBaldwincough* said if George Bush were elected, they'd leave the country.

Does he need help finding a route north or south of here? I say if the draft is implented anytime soon, Baldwin and Penn are first on the list.

Sean Penn peaked as an actor in his Spicoli role in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". It's been downhill from there. No big loss. I hope he chains himself to a AAA gun in Iraq somewhere. And take Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon with him.

I don't really have a problem with Penn or anyone else exposing their views - in the end it's a democracy and each is entitled to their own etc.. He obviously belives in what he's saying, regardless of the rights or wrongs of it.

What shits me though is when - for instance here he misses out on a role because of his stand - he gets all sooky about it. Regular people realise actions have concequences. If I tell the boss to get fucked, I get the sack. If you cheat on your missus, you'll be sleeping on the lawn if you get caught etc etc It shouldnt be any big suprise to Mr. Penn that if he goes round touring Iraq and beating his big drum of peace, someones gonna think 'oooh he might be a liability' when they look at him for a role.

Welcome to the real world Sean..

Hollywood is ultra-liberal, but even they have their limits when someone's ultra left views move into the realm of anti-Americanism. Jane Fonda, while still a "name" in the biz, irreparably damaged her career with her infamous Vietnam trip. Her career has never fully recovered. If you want proof of that fact, remember that the highlight of her post Commie-loving trip career was making workout videos in the 80s.

Penn, much like Fonda, actually traveled to Iraq to speak out against the "evil Americans." And, also like Fonda, has found that his extreme views may have ruined his career for good. (Though, many people will say that happened back when he married Madonna.)

And don't get me started on Susan Surandon. Everytime I see her goddamn "I need to know what Iraq did to us" commercial I throw my fucking shoe at the tv.
