Since there seems to be an awful lot of hockey fans here at the links I thought I'd throw this question at you. What is your all time favorite line on a hockey team. What were your favorite 6 players out on the ice at one time. One that you actually saw play together. Mine would be:

    LW- Al Secord
    C- Denis Savard
    RW- Steve Larmer
    LD- Doug Wilson
    RD- Keith Brown
    G- Murray Bannerman

Brings back so many memories of sittin in the second balcony of the old Chicago Stadium. By the way I'm sure all you Detroit,St. Louis and old Minnesota fans remember these guys.

Cabo, I've been to a few of those match ups in the old Chicago Stadium and at the Met Center. What a great rivalry. That was the NHL at it's best, if you ask me.

I'm really dissapointed (no, actually really pissed), the NHL put the Wild out West. They should have reunited them in the same divsion with Detroit, Chicago, and St. Louis again. Ahh, the old Norris Division. I guess Columbus ruined those chances.

I used to love watching the forward line of Yzerman, Gallant & Probert for the Wings in the late 80's. Gallant & Probie would be knocking guys around while Stevie Y was scoring 60 some goals. Gallant & Probie would definitely benefit from playing with Stevie, Probie made the All-Star team that year, which is really unusual for a "Goon", it's almost unheard of.

You can't forget about the 'Russian 5' for the Wings in '97, once they got the puck, it was almost impossible to steal it away from them, they were pretty incredible. Unfortunately the severe injury to Vladimir Konstantinov broke up that line.

    Go Wings!!!

    Hey hellohawk,
I couldn't agree with you more about the Wild. They should of been put in the Central division. I think the old Hawks, Stars rivalry would of picked up right were it left off with the Wild taking the Stars spot.
I gotta ask you though what about Dino? I thought that was every NorthStars fans favorite player. God I used to hate that guy so much. I remember sitting in the 1rst row of the second balcony and hanging a green dinosaur by it's neck. Good times, good times. The early 80's was the best time for hockey.
Whatever happened to Karry Taco( I can't remember how he spelled his first name.) I just remember those bright white goalie pads he used to wear.

late 80's early 90's was the best time for hockey. essentially the two best teams in the league were calgary and edmonton, and they played eash other in the first round all the time. calgary wins in 86 and 89 (won it all in 89, lost the final in 86) and edmonton, won the rest. the 93 maple leafs were the shit too. i don't remember the lines, but they played some kick ass hockey. there's too many teams nowadays.

GGB, I never knew that Cam's number might be retired during that game, but I kind of figured that Ray's would. Anyway I'll be there on March 24th. Got two tickets for Christmas so my brother and I will be heading down. I can't wait Ray is my favorite player of all time, he's the best. All of New England loves him and the Fleet will be rocking like the old Gaahden when he comes back.
