I try to avoid these issue threads sometimes, but there is a great conspiracy against the American way of life going on in the pussified educational establishment...The move to BAN DODGEBALL IN SCHOOL!!!

Some pansies in not quite ivory towers say this game singles students out for embarassment, separates the strong from the weak, delineates winners and losers, and is too violent...I say, and???

    This game is awesome...

I was a geek in school(shut up!!) and I got nailed plenty. But, I also had an arm, so I was able to work my way up the school society hierarchy by being valuable at dodgeball...Isn't this the way life is??

    Thoughts?

And before you give some sissified answer, you MUST reflect on the time YOU were able to DRILL some jerk with the ball...the adrenaline which coursed through your veins...the joy of retribution...the pure exctasy...the...uh, I'll stop now...

Sactofan, you are correct on this issue. There are far too many namby pamby, wussified, mamma boys, titty babies, that have grown up to pollute our political and legal system with this type of tripe.

The weak need to be identified early in life. This gives them the chance to improve/strengthen themselves. Or, if they don't step up to the challenge, to be culled from the herd.

The individuals who come up with these ideas are afraid their little sweathearts might be hurt (physically, but mainly emotionally)by life. HELLO newsflash!!! Life hurts everyone at sometime or another. I say to the adults who think up these inane ideas and rules: Grow-up!! Life is hard enough as is. Being dumb doesn't make it any easier.

    Dodgeball's fun.

Hell, being the little guy gives you an ADVANTAGE - you can duck out of the way faster. At least that's how it was for me.

There's no reason to ban it...unless someone can provide physical evidence that elementary school dodgeball incidents have had a detrimental impact on the psychological development of a child that has scarred him/her for life, there is no reason to remove it.

I created a game with dodgeball called Dizzy Dodgeball. You spin around get really dizzy and play dodgeball.

Angel, it IS true...a real growing movement toward the further pansifying of America's youth!

We had a great game called bombardment...played on an indoor basketball court with about 30-40 HALF-INFLATED VOLLEYBALLS...You could hear that ball pop off some geek's back for a day and a half!!!

I loved playing Dodgeball in elementary school. Even though I was one of the smallest guys in my class I somehow managed to be the last one standing a lot.

That was my all-time favorite gym class activity. Sure beat the hell out of square dancing!

We played that all the way up through highschool. Divide up the class into two teams, and the gym into two halves. Get hit with a ball, and you were out. Catch a ball, and the person who threw it was out. That was just so much fun.

Anybody ever play paintball? What a rush!
