This was pretty interesting about the feud between Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler back in the 80's. Lawler just admitted it was all a hoax... The dude has a new book out. Well, I've read enough. No sense in me depleting his resources

I guess we should take his word for it although the whole Letterman deal sure was convincing.

Of course it's convincing; thats the beauty of old school pro wrestling. Today's product doesn't have a clue.

I believe they revealed that it was all fake in the "Man on the Moon" movie, and Jerry Lawler played himself in that.

And I agree with JonJustice about pro wrestling over the past 20 years...it's so obviously and blatantly fake and over-the-top that all but a bunch of brain-dead hicks and their kids buy into it.

You're right - wrestling is so f'ing lame these days. The only reason I might pause to watch wrestling while surfing the Tube is for Stacy Kiebler (sp??) & she's only 21 or 22

I have to agree with the comments about Stacey. She is an extremely attractive woman and she's resisted the urge of putting silicon in her chest as well, can't say that for all the WWE women.

I hardly pay attention to the TV programs now because the storylines have become so lame; anything to spike up ratings. The necrophilia storyline for me was just way over the top.

Exactly.... Anyone remember the Magnum TA-Tully Blanchard feud? It was bought into because they really seemed to HATE each other. Same with Dusty and Flair (although they really did hate each other).
The difference with todays product, is it is too "time of the moment". A feud lasts only as long as the next pay per view. The ONLY feud they have had that even closely resembles an old school feud was Austin-McMahon. Thats probably why fans bought into it like they did. Get the picture?

If you are into the old school wrestling like i am, here is a site worth checking out. http://pub8.ezboard.com/bkayfabememories It's a very respectable site with tight rules, but you can check up on every old school promotion there was.

I still remember Tully Blanchard pulling Terry Funk's ear nearly off with the claw part of a hammer. The old South Texas Wrestling was awesome in the early 80s.
