I hate ticketmaster. On April 26, I bought tickets for the Eagles concert in Shreveport. Since my address has been changed, they held my tickets. On April 29th, I spoke to a customer support guy and he said I had until June 1st to fix the error.

Little did I know that I had only til May 1st, or just two days, to change my address at my bank. Well, I find out today that my tickets were cancelled, and my tickets were already sold to someone else.

I plan on writing an letter to these people. Although they will toss it, it will make me feel better.

Ticketmaster is a monopoly. They suck.

Don't get into Pearl Jam much, but I was very interested in their campaign to circumvent Ticketmaster a few years ago - wish more people (artists) had gotten behind it. Ticketmaster does suck - all their various "fees" are outrageous - always thought scalping was supposed to be illegal, but I guess if you call it a "service charge" that makes it okay - service for what? Back in '92, I bought a ticket to the U2 show in Hampton, Virginia via Ticketmaster. At the same time, my brother was trying to do the same. I was successful, he wasn't, but he ended up winning two tickets to the show from a local radio station. So the three of us (including his wife) get there, and I go up to the box office to get my ticket (which I hadn't received) and they had all the trouble in the world finding it. Finally they did, only instead of a ticket I basically got a piece of paper with my seat number on it. I called Ticketmaster after I got back home and told 'em what happened and said I wanted the service charge removed as I didn't actually get any service. Of course they didn't. They take a lot of the joy out of going to a concert, though.

Friggin Ticketmaster is quick to slap all sorts of fees on there. Convenience charge, online purchase charge, etc.

It's enough to make you just go to the box office and buy them on your own anymore.

There are alternative ticket purchasing agencies in NYC, like ticketweb, which are much cheaper...certain clubs use them...like the bowery ballroom and the knitting factory in NYC...only like a $2 charge....

do yourselves a favor, do everything you can to avoid ticketmaster....go to the box office to buy your tix....if there are record shops that sell tix to a certain venue, buy them from there...
