What team(s) do you guys think are totally disappointing, choke, and are overrated.

How bout' them Atlanta Braves. 10 straight division titles, yet they have won only 1 World Series and lost 4, or maybe 5, I'm not quite sure.

My Yankees kicked the shit out of them in 2 of those series losses!

The F-in' Dodgers. That ridiculously high freaking payroll and we still can't get to the next level. Sheeit, now they can't even make the playoffs anymore. F-them.

The Minnesota Vikings. They're 0-4 in Super Bowls and went 15-1 in 1998 and lost to the Falcons in the NFC Championship. They can usually make it to the playoffs but never get anywhere.

    The Chicago Cubs.

How can one team be in first place the majority of the season only to phone it in the last 8-10 weeks? Unbelievable.

Talk about franchises that need to fold...this club has NEVER seemed serious about winning.

The Minnesota Vikings for sure. I think only the Cowboys have made the playoffs more times since the merger.

The Boston Red Sox, in almost a morbidly romantic way. They invent news ways to collapse every year. I highly recommend reading "Curse of the Bambino" if you get the chance.

The Chicago Cubs. Two words... Tribune Company.

The Chicago White Sox aren't that far behind.

St. Louis Blues for pretty much the last 15 years.

I don't consider the Dodgers chokers as much as I think of them as underachievers.

#1. - The Boston Red Sox. Unlike the Cubbies they've actually made it to the big dance a few times in the past 60 years or so, so they got to choke on a national stage. And in such wonderfully creative ways, usually.

#2. - The Patriots. For many years the key to their playoffs went through the Orange Bowl, and for something like 14 straight years they lost down there. I believe in 1985 they did manage to win and went all the way to the Super Bowl, only to have their heads handed to them by the Chicago Bears in one of the most humiliating defeats that there's ever probably ever been in a "Championship" game. And then about a week later about 7 members of the team got arrested for drugs.

#3. Houston Astros - been around since '60 or '61 and of the few trips they've made to the playoffs, all have ended with them going home in the first round. Same for the Los Angeles/California/Anaheim (insert soundclip of Huey Lewis & The News "Finally Found A Home" here) Angels - who in the same time span have only made the playoffs once, I believe.

#4. Minnesota Vikings - 4 trips to the Super Bowl, 4 losses, plus a ton of other playoff appearances where they've lost to what would be considered (at the time) lesser teams (they have lost to some good teams, too).

#5. Buffalo Bills - like the Vikings, 4 trips to the big dance without a victory, unlike the Vikings, managed to get all their losing done in 4 straight years, getting progressively worse each time I believe (at least the first 3).

Good call on the Astros. Although that was a heart-breaker in '86.

And they were one strike away from the Series in '86, when Donnie Moore threw a pitch to the BoSox's Dave Henderson. The rest is history.

The NY Rangers have spent a shit load of money the last few seasons and can't even get into the playoffs. Their stanely cup victory in 1994 only happened because the core group of players that year for NY were former Oilers. The Astros, Vikings and Braves are also good choices.

    The Sonic's!

A few years back the Sonic's won 65 to 70 games for three or four years in a row only to be knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.

I am in arlington (dallas-ftworth) now, but I grew up in houston. no one chokes like the astros. I am getting used to it. if not for the rockets back to back chapionships, you could just list all Houston sports teams in the top ten.

Ahh, the Minnesota Vikings wrote the book on the word choke and I'm not dissapointed. Four trips to the Super Bowl and can't win the big game. It's too bad the Buffalo Bills read the first chapter and have equalled their legacy. The NE Patriots aren't too far behind either. One day the men's US national soccer team will make it to the World Cup. They seem to choke out way before they get to the big game.
