i've been stuck on this long ass history of berlin for so long, the other day i got bored and took out 'extenuating circumstances' by jonathan valin. great hard-luck, tough guy mystery set in a "world gone wrong" underside of cincinnati. i grew up on lots of mysteries, and valin is still my favorite - modern day film noir stuff.

i've been trying to get through the new Bill Wyman book, Rolling With the Stones. i've made a couple passes through it just looking at all the pics of memorabilia, and keep getting distracted from the text...

Reading '48 by James Herbert and it's awful. Just finished American Tabloid by James Ellroy and it was excellent.
HERE AND GONE by Haylen Beck (Stuart Neville writing as...) - "It doesn't get better than this." - Lee Child, "Highly recommended." - Harlan Coben, "Cancel all your plans and settle in for the ride." - Ruth Ware, "This is a book that lives up to the buzz." - Alafair Burke

Currently reading the paperback edition (never read it when it first came out in hardback) of Bernard Goldberg's infamous book "Bias". It's fascinating and really makes you think.

    Just read SADDAM'S BOMBMAKER
    by Khidhir Hazma
    Pretty scary stuff.

    Also recently read
THE NEW REVELATIONS by Neale Donald Walsch

    Both were very good books.
Glad to see that Bias is out in paperback, will have to pick that up soon.

    Peace

keegan is awesome. i've really enjoyed his stuff.

i read the four ellroy LA books too. la confidential was one of those rare movies better than the book, tho i enjoyed the book. white jazz was better in my mind. ellroy writes mysteries like clancy writes military - great premise, details and twists, but the people can be a bit flat, IMO.

</font>[/QUOTE]Yeah he's great. This is my 2nd time reading it. I think the Angincourt section is illustrative of some things going on today regarding the difference between "The French" and the English / American mindset.

hmm i do read some books about bush and how he financed his campaign with some of the oil-companies and other shit... i also read some books about 9/11, how it happens, it is a book about conspiracy and it´s really interesting, but i don´t really believe this shit...

    and my favorite writer:

stephen king, i have collected nearly all of his books, today i´ve started on "the buick"... i really like all books from him, but i´m looking forward to the dark tower series, i think the next book will come out here in the end of this year...

2 weeks ago i dismissed my t.v.... t.v. in germany is really really brain destroying, particularly mtv and the other music chanels we have, so i choosed to live without television in the first days it´s really hard, but with some good books in your hands you´ll get over it... c´mon all you guys, throw your t.v. away and read some good books!
