    You're a dumb-fucking actor!!!

Actor Martin Sheen telling the Los Angeles Times that NBC executives fear his opposition to a U.S.-led war against Iraq might adversely affect his hit television show The West Wing. He said network executives have "let it be known they're very uncomfortable with where I'm at" on the war and says they worry his vocal antiwar stance will affect the show's ratings. (NBC officials swear there is "no concern among top management.")

Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

I like the show too but I won't look at it the same way after the way he is acting now. What is it about Hollywood and their elitist attitude towards war? They enjoy their multi-million dollar movies and shows, the freedom to speak their minds and all the luxuries of life but fail to realize what it takes to keep all of what they have.

9/11 doesn't seem to have changed their minds, maybe a terrorist attack on the Sheen mansion would give them a new perspective.

Wait, I need celebrities to tell me what to think! Just like I need a laugh track to tell me when to laugh! Donít you comprehend that celebrities have a greater understanding of reality than the rest of us? Just because they surround themselves with yes men and sycophants doesnít mean they live in a fog of unrealistic idealism. Right? Right?

you're still talking about sheen, right? not bush? sheen's hardcore, he's been doing this for decades. as a fellow ohian and catholic, i'm proud of him. i don't watch the west wing, whatever that has to do with it, and i don't follow sheen anymore than i do any other celebrity or politician. for all you free market types, if sheen's outspokeness damages his public persona, then he'll lose the ability to turn that persona into cash-paying acting roles. once again, the invisible hand of the market saves the day?

america's cult of celebrity can be obnoxious, but i'd rather here something like this, than about britney's alleged virginity, or demi's brave struggle as a single-mother (with 12 servants), or bob dole's viagra. how many of you guy's posting bitch when arnie worked the streets for his school kids proposition, or when bruce willis gets trotted out at fund raisers? this swings both ways, so try not to get your panties in a bunch.

    Two things:

    a. I don't feel celebrities have any greater insight into politics than most of the rest of us,

    however,

    b. why wouldn't they use everything at their disposal to see things for themselves/
    express their beliefs freely

I don't think most of us really weigh what they
have to say with very much import. It is merely
regretable that they are made into caricatures
to subvert any kind of dissention.

I'd imagine the problem isnt his celebrity, more that his point of view is unpopular.

Even before this impending war "crisis", Martin Sheen had let this role go to his head long ago. Whenever I've seen or read interviews with him, he seems to really think he's the President or something.

I thought "pretty broad" terms were saved for the "Beautiful Girls" thread?

Martin's entitled to his opinion. I'm, entitled to call him a butthead.

He does make it clear that he opposes the policy but he supports the troops 100%.

    Other than that? Yawn...

I have a hard time taking anything that actors have to say regarding important issues seriously. I mean what exactly is their job description? They make enormous amounts of money to recite sentences that someone else wrote. However, they are entitled to their opinions. I just wish that so many people didn't take their comments as some sort of gospel.
