What's the best movie you've seen this year? I realized as I wanted to do this topic something interesting. Is it just me, or have movies really sucked ass this year so far? I think my favorite movie of the year is a week away (LOTR), but most of the big movies have been real disappointing. Also I didn't consider Harry Potter because I refuse to see that movie. What are some of your thoughts?

Without a doubt Blow was the best movie of the year...although i thought Training Day with the Machiavellian acting of Denzel Washington was surprising a very enthralling movie...i'm actually looking forward to a couple coming out here in late Dec. Vanilla Sky this week and Lord of the Rings looks awesome

but my pick for movie of the year is Blow i loved it...and now that i have it on dvd i watch it all the time...

I think the only movie I saw in the theater this year was Jurassic Park 3.

I agree with Shrek, that was a great movie, and if you go way back to a movie that came out about this time last year Finding Forrester is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Can't wait to see ALI on Christmas Day.

I clicked on this thread thinking, "Movie of the Year? Well, I hope they don't all think I'm a dork for liking 'SHREK.'" LOL! Chalk another one up.

Editing my post...I almost forgot to mention "Planet of the Apes."

I'm a huge sci-fi fan and I dug that movie, even though Marky Mark still can't act his way out of a paper bag. Loved the surprise ending. No falling in love bullshit.

I've seen a couple of flick this year-Planet of teh Apes and Shrek were very cool. I actually got dragged out to see Harry Potter and it was actually a pretty good film. I'm definately looking forward to seeing Lord of the Rings. I just love fantasy/sci-fi flicks. LOTR is going to be a masterpiece.

I would have to say Seagal's latest movie Exit Wounds was my favorite.

There is a lot of action in that movie, and great fight scenes! I think it is one of his best movies, the only thing I didn't like about it was all of the rap music in the background ugh!

I saw a title in the hotel the other night that I haven't seen getting any nods here - believe it was called "Eat Me Like You Mean It" - we watched "America's Sweethearts" instead, but I'm still intrigued...sounds like a top-notch film to me!

    Shrek was good.

    Ocean's 11 rocked.

Vanilla Sky and LOTR will probably be pretty good.

    Memento was awesome.

That's about all I can think of.

Oh yeah, I also saw Planet Of The Apes and A.I. but I think they both suck.
