Hey, we need an NFL draft thread. I like what my Pack did....Walker is a tall, fast reciever. Dunno if they had to trade up to get him though.

    Just seven little words are necessary to sum up my feelings about my team's draft...

    TOM COUGHLIN IS A MINDLESS FUCKING MORON.

    Yep, that sums it up nicely.

    Yup--they traded their 28th overall pick to Seattle for the 20th to select Walker.

    From Packers.com: "Mike Sherman and the Green Bay Packers moved up from 28th to select Florida State wide receiver Javon Walker with the 20th overall selection of the 2002 NFL Draft. To move up, the Packers swapped first-round picks with the Seattle Seahawks while also tossing in their second-round pick (the 60th overall pick in the draft) and receiving Seattle's fifth-round pick (156th overall)."

    Seeing that Walker was only the third wide receiver selected at that point in the first round, I'm hoping he'll be a good one. But Mel Kiper, Jr. mentioned that he's been known to drop a few balls.

    The Packers need to up their receiving corp after the thrashing they took from the Rams in the playoffs. A lot of Favre's interceptions were due to poor routes and poor hands by his mostly departed, or in the case of Antonio Freeman, soon to be departed receivers.

    Let me tell you Lion fans out there. Joey Harrington is going to be something special.

    I noticed that the Lions took a corner with their pick in the 3rd round. I was very disappointed that it wasn't Rashad Bauman, whom the Redskins took later that round. Rashad is going to suprise many people. He is a DAMN GOOD cover corner.

    I think you're right,I got a feeling this is going to be the Lions best draft pick since Barry Sanders

    </font>
Personally, I'm a little disappointed with the pick. Did they REALLY need to move up for that pick, and give away their second rounder?? I don't think so. They could have still gotten Walker at the 28th pick, or at least Josh Reed or Jabar Gaffney. Plus, with their second round pick, they could have gotten another very good receiver in Andre Davis or Antonio Bryant (the steal of the draft). I just think this was a bad move by the Pack. Hopefully they know something about Walker, that he will be special.

    </font>
Ya know, I think you're right. When I watched Antonio Bryant get picked in the late late second round I was thinking..........he coulda gone to the Pack...and they coulda still gotten Walker or at least Reed. But ya know, ya never know how the draft is gonna shape up and second guessing is just pointless. Yeah, they prolly do know something about Walker, becuase, I always opperate under the assumption that the experts know more than I do
    Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

    Ah yeah, one more thing....A guy I graduated High School with got drafted by the Giants. Nick Greisen, the Middle Linebacker for Wisconsin went in the fifth round. the local papers were saying he'd go in the 6th or 7th if at all.

    Well, I saw a few clips during the sports segment on my local news channel, and Walker is not only fast--he has big hands and looks like Sterling Sharpe used to look after making contact with defenders. Remember the "Choo-choo, baby" commercials with Dennis Hopper? And Walker's gonna wear number 84 with the Pack, instead of his number 80 with FSU. After seeing clips of him, I think Sterling Sharpe has to be what the Packers see in him. I wonder if he can find openings in the zone like Sharpe could?

    I really hope Walker turns out well for the Pack. Antonio Freeman was told not to come into mini-camp until/unless he agrees to a pay cut. (Freeman is currently making $4.3 million per year.)
