Man, we just covered him in my History of Broadcasting class on Tuesday (i have it Tues and Thurs). My teach is gonna be upset.

Straight from my book "Tube of Plenty" by Erik Barnouw:

"Among variety hours launched in 1948 were two smash successes. One was Texaco Star Theaterwith Milton Berle. He acquired the names "Uncle Miltie" and "Mr. Television." He was brash, uninhibited, and liked to cavort in funny clothes. He had never been successful in radio, but was soon regarded as the embodiment of television comedy. He was impertinent, but never politically risky."

     Rest in peace Mr. Television.

The plumber says the cup must be leaking. George Carlin says the cup is too big. The Starbucks employee says its so you have room for cream. The conspiracy theorist says aliens took the other half. The baseball player says his cup is definitely full. MacGuyver says he can build a powerful explosive with it. The psychoanalyst says the cup is your mother. The punk sitting next to you also says the cup is your mother. The romance novelist says the cup is a willing receptacle to the wild gushing torrents of pure passion from the hard chiseled urn. The zen master says There is no cup. Pamela Anderson says her cups are definitely full. Me? Refill!

    RIP Uncle Milti.

My first exposure to Milto Berle was when my Grandpa was in the hospital and we all knew he was on his way out. When we went to visit him, my dad bought The Milton Berle Joke book and read to my Grandpa. We all sat in the hospital room and laughed even though we knew my Grandpa wasn't going to last much longer. Just the way my Grandpa would have wanted it. Thanks Milton
Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

I believe one of the members of RATT was related to Uncle Miltie. Van Halen in their very early years had an association with him as well. I read that in Dave's book.
