I went to Bubba Gump Shrimp with my girlfriend for dinner, and saw this interesting thing about Forrest Gump mistakes. Check these out.

    1. Disappearing girl - In the bus scene, when Forrest sits next to little Jenny, there is a little girl sitting behind them, when they show the scene again, she's not there.

    2. 3-pointer - The scene where Forrest is practicing on a basketball court playing ping pong in the mid-70s shows a 3-point line, which wasn't introduced until 1979.

    3. Vietnamm - In the chopper ride to camp, the pilot looks over to the Bubba and Forrest, and you can clearly see Bubba isn't sticking out his bottom lip....oops!

    4. Vietnamm 2 - Lt. Dan's platoon that got wiped out didn't really go through that jungle for another year in real life.

    5. Jenny died - Jenny died on a Saturday according to Forrest, yet the tombstone reveils a date March 22, 1982 which is really a Monday.

    6. Iron - Go here

    7. Mello Yellow - When Forrest and Lt. Dan first try catching shrimp on the new boat they catch a bunch of junk, including a Mello Yello can, which hadn't been invented yet.

    8. Crashing boat - When Forrest sees Lt. Dan from his shrimping boat, he jumps off and swims to the dock, leaving the boat traveling unmanned to the right of the dock. After they talk for a while, the boat crashes in the background, to the left of the dock.

    9. USA Today - Jenny shows Forrest a clipping of him in U.S.A Today, dated 1983, but on Jenny's Grave it says she died on March 22 1982.

    10. Nude singing - In the scene where Robin Wright's character is supposed to be playing the guitar and singing nude in the club, you can see the nude-coloured thong she is wearing when they show her from the back.

    11. USA Today again - They show someone reading from a USA Today that is from around 1970, but the newspaper wasn't even created until 1982.

    12. Crippling - In the scene where Lt. Dan chases the hookers out of his apartment, if you look closely you can see Sinise use his real leg (which was taken out by the special effects people) to push himself back into his wheelchair.

    13. Speedy ref - When Forrest is running the football field and passing all the players, he passes everyone except the referee, who can be seen moving down the sidelines at a faster pace than Forrest.

    14. Apple Stock - When Forrest is reading the letter from Apple Computer, the date at the top of the letter says September 1978, but Apple's stock never went public until December of 1980.

    15. Mower - Jenny comes to visit Forrest as he is mowing his yard on the riding lawn mower. The first shot shows Forrest still mowing the edge of the long grass but the shot that shows him getting off to meet Jenny, the lawnmower is off of the line he was mowing and is away from the long grass - if you look, the grass in front of the lawn mower is already cut.

    16. When Mrs. Gump is reading to Forrest towards the beginning, she turns the page when shes interrupted by Forrests question. Then when she continues, she flips the page again to start where she left off.

    17. Lt. Dan's legs - In the scene where Lt. Dan is confronting Forrest outside the Dick Cavet show Lt. Dan Loses control of his wheelchair. As it spins out of control and flies by the camera you can clearly see Gary's Legs.

    18. Charlie - When the platoon is walking down the trail and he says they are always looking for a man named Charlie, he has a pack of matches in his helmet from his MRE's. When they get on their feet, he has a pack of the MRE napkins next to the matches.

    19. DC - When Forrest Runs towards Jenny in the reflecting pond during the Anti-Vietnam Rally, he runs by the same man twice. Look carefully for the man in the top hat and you will see it is really the same shot from two different angles.

    20. Lights - In the scene when Forrest is a kid, and he is running away from the "Bullies", when he is just entering town from a dirt road you can see a lighted figure follows right behind him, the question is, what is it?

    21. Statue of Liberty - Near the end of the movie when he visits Jenny, it is supposed to be July 4th, 1976. On her TV is the New York Harbour Bi-centennial Celebration, and a shot of the Statue of Liberty shows her with a "gold" torch, which was added as part of her restoration in 1986.

    22. Crew members - When Forrest and Bubba are cleaning the floor with toothbrushes, in the background you can see somebody sneak to the side, possibly a crew member.

    23. Truck - When Forrest was running from the truck, the truck came about a foot behind him in one scene. In the next scene, he's ahead of the truck quite a bit.

    24. Double cheers - When Forrest was running in the first football scene, it shows cheerleaders and a couple of football players on the sidelines, then the next scene in closer view of Forrest running it shows the same cheerleaders and players in the same exact spot as if Forrest ran that same part of the field again.

    25. Lake - The lake behind the Gump house in Alabama is the same lake the Forrest rests his buddies at when he rescues them in Vietnam.

    26. Bombs away - In the scene where Forrest is carrying Bubba out of the jungle away from the airstrike, look carefully when Forrest starts down the trail into the open and the napalm starts hitting the ground. Several rounds land very close to him, and one even lands in a bush that he has just passed. In actuality Forrest and Bubba would have been crispy to the bone before they realised what hit them.

    27. Car - In the scene where Jenny asks Forrest if he thinks she could fly off the bridge, a car is coming towards them - in the next shot it's gone.

    28. Medal of Honor - In the the scene where he receives his discharge orders (and when he subsequently returns home) the ribbons on his uniform do not include the one for the Medal of Honor. Just because he gave his actual medal to Jenny, he'd still be entitled to wear the ribbon, as far as the Army's concerned.

    29. Changing shorts - In the scenes where the little boys are chasing Forrest, (the famous "RUN FORREST RUN" scenes) Forrest's shorts change color from brown (when he is on his drive way to his house) to a bluish color (when he is running past the prisoners working on the fields) and then back to brown when he is at Jenny's house.

    30. Dan's legs again - When Gump saves Lt. Dan one of his legs is gone but when a bullet "bit" Forrest and he pulls Lt. Dan away while he's shooting both his legs are intact.

    31. Braces - When Forrest and Jenny meet for the first time and run through the meadows to the big tree, Forrest's knees bend when he runs and his braces never break. But when he's being chased by the boys on their bikes and runs the same way, they fall apart.

    32. Astronaut - When Forrest tell lt. Dan he is going to be a shrimp boat captain, Lt. Dan says "yeah, and I'm an astronaut." The next movie Tom Hanks and Gary Sinese made together was Apollo 13 where they were both astronauts....

    33. Panties - When Forrest sits down next to Bubba he wipes his face off with a pair of women's underwear.

    34. Shadow - When Forrest is running across America and decides to stop in the desert, he is heading East (as is obvious by his shadow). He says "I think I'll go home now", turns around, and walks West...away from home.

    35. When Forrest first goes back into the jungle to find Bubba, the first soldier he picks up is Tex, who is white. But the hand that is raised to draw Forrest's attention towards Tex is black. (probably cuz he got smoked)
CHICAGO WHITE SOX - 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONS

The Chicago White Sox (1901-present) - The Original SOX - Proof

    The Boston Americans (1901)
    The Boston Somersets (1902)
    The Boston Pilgrims (1903-1906)
The Boston Red Sox (1907-present) - Proof

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

Found these two misconceptions on the Net.

    Misconceptions

Throughout the whole movie they call Gump Private Gump when he his clearly showned on his military uniform a listing of a E-5 a sergeant. Also he went to college before the army, which means he would have been a officer not a noncommissioned officer. [By graduating from college Forrest Gump would not automatically be an OFFICER in the Army unless he got commissioned through ROTC. He would, however, be a Specialist because of his college degree.]

In the final scene where Forrest Junior is waiting for the schoolbus, he tells Forrest that he is taking the Curious George book to school for show-and-tell because "Grandma used to read it to me." In the storyline, Forrest's mother (Forest Junior's paternal Grandmother) is dead before Forrest learns he has a son. It wouldn't have been his maternal grandmother because Forrest had the book at the bus stop he narrates the movie from, and Jenny's mom died when she was a child. [Young Forrest is waiting at the bu stop and says he is taking the Curious George book to school because "Grandmom used to read it to YOU", referring to his father. He never said that his grandmother use to read it to him].

It's amazing how many mistakes can be found in the average movie. I'm sure some of you have already seen it, but for those who haven't check out http://www.movie-mistakes.com. You'll be blown away at some of the goofs, errors, and inconsistencies you've never noticed.
