...that the Rams should not bench Bulger?

I watch the NFL talking-head programs pretty regularly, and there's one critical point that I haven't heard anyone bring up yet:

- The Rams has the luxury of allowing Warner's nagging hand injury to absolutely positively heal beyond 100%. Everyone saw how bad the guy looked early this year, and his poor performance was a result of pressing to get back early. This is the kind of injury a QB really can't afford to rush the healing process with.

If I'm the Rams, I sit Warner until the season is over. This season is expendable...think about it: the Rams can finish no better than 11-5. Hell, the Packers and Bucs are both going to finish at least 11-5 (both will probably finish stronger than that). The Rams might win a playoff game in Tampa and/or SF, but they're not going to win at Lambeau.

The Rams are going to have a winning season with Bulger. Trade Bulger for some killer draft picks before next season to a team that needs a QB. Give Warner an extra 10 months to fully heal his hand and assure yourself that you get him back in top form in '03.

Why has no one else anywhere pointed this out?

I agree. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. You know it still bugs him because he was grasping at it every time he threw in warm-ups. Bulger says Kurt deserves to be in their because of his past legacy, but you know deep down he has to be thinking WTF? I turned us around. But nevertheless they need Faulk healthy to have a real chance at making the big show again.

Not a Rams fan but, yes, let Warner heal up.
The Raiders lost Jim Plunkett in the 1983 season and Mark Wilson guided them to a 13-3 record. Plunkett came back in as the starter and they one the Super Bowl.

A few years later, Wilson injured his shoulder but they kept him in and it cost the team and Wilson.

Ofcourse there was the time John Elway finished the season with a broken ankle and played the last games with a cast on his foot....bastard.

Whether or not the Rams stick with Bulger, he has done more for his career in the last month than he ever could've imagined. He went from an unknown third stringer to a starter that led his team on a 4 game winning streak. Then, when he was benched in favor of the man who dug his team into the whole that Bulger would get them out of, he took it like a man.

No matter what the Rams do, Bulger has went from an unknown third stringer that would probably have to fight for a roster spot year in and year out, to a guy who could (and probably will) start for a number of teams.
Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

Yeah, it's funny...I'm not a Rams fan, either, but if I WERE a fan, I'd be screaming to keep Warner benched and get him fully healed for '03.

By the way, axxman, I dig your tag line. I am a HUGE BOC fan (seen 'em live more often than any other pro band).

BOC is one of my all time favorite bands. I use them as litmus test because folks who dig BOC are almost always good people.

axx,

Dude, if you're in Carmel, then you must catch them at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, right? Or do you have to catch 'em at Slims in SF (like I do every year), or at the occasional county fair?

I've been in my current band for 2 years, and we still don't play any BOC (it's the 3 guitar thing...)

Either way, glad to meet a fellow fan.

Catalyst when I can, they've also played over the hill in Monterey. I first saw them in 1980 at Salinas. I saw them again headlining with Rainbow and Montrose at the Cow Palace. That was when they still had their big Godzilla.

Go down to your nearest music store and order sheet music for BOC. I learned their stuff at an early stage in my playing and it continues to pay off all these years later. Their influences are many and varied so you get ahead of the game in so many directions it's not even funny.
