So far so good for the Packers. They picked up DL Jamal Reynolds at no. 10. He's a spanker from Florida St. Next they will go for a good reciever. After that it's anybody's guess. I would suspect a linebacker, a QB, another reciever and another DL.

Looks like my Niners traded up to the 7th pick to get Andre Carter, a defensive end from California. Everyone knows their defense sucks right now but maybe getting a running back or offensive lineman first would have been a better decision.

No fuckin' way. Their offense was one of the best in the league last year. It was their defense that killed them! They need a defense and they need it now, and then they will have playoff hopes

Maybe you forgot that we lost Charlie Garner to free agency. Who's going to step in at running back? Garrison Hearst? I don't know.

Garrison Hearst was great before his injury, so if he has recovered he should be fine.

I was under the impression that his surgery never fully healed, and can't play.

    I may be wrong.

I read an article the other day that said Hearst is working out (lifting weights and running) and improving at the 49ers' training complex. He's probably going to compete for the starting job with third-round pick Kevan Barlow.

Lets hear it for the San Diego Chargers! They looked brilliant in the draft because they answered all their needs quite smartly.

1)They traded Vick and passed on a 15 million contract and the possibility of another Ryan Leaf situation. I do not think Vick will be a superstar QB in the NFL.

2)They picked up Drew Brees who is a solid QB and will learn under the winning guidance of Doug Flutie who will start the season.

    3) They picked up LaDainian Tolinson in the 5th pick for a running back. He was touted as one of the best RB's to be drafted. The Chargers had not had a great RB since a healthy Natrone Means in 1994.

This team will go from a 1-15 season to playoff contention this season, and it will not cost them a lot to do it under the cap.

    Georgie,

I sure hope you're right. I've been kind of a closet Chargers fan the past few years. I was a HUGE fan in the days of Dan Fouts, Kellen Wislow and all those guys. Since their Super Bowl appearance, though, it's like they can't focus and regroup. I hope they DO bounce back to at least .500.

But hey...you never know! In this league, sometimes being .500 CAN get you into the playoffs!

No kidding. Our 'boys screwed up big time. Every draft analyst gave them a D grade or less in this draft. Jerry Jones doesn't have a clue. Have you noticed how he thinks he is Jimmy Johnson. Every year they are trading up and down in the draft and getting people way ahead of where they should go. This qb was rated a 4th rounder. Jerry moved down once in the 2nd and then did another trade and moved back up to pick this guy. What the hell was he thinking???
