I'm not a fan of Pizza Hut but when I'm compromised and have to eat there, I prefer the New Yorker. My second choice is thin crust. My least favorite is pan. Too much bread. I'd rather taste the toppings than fill up on the bread.

I like the New Yorker the most. But there are a lot of better pizza places where I live so I don't get Pizza Hut very much.

Actually, my favorite is the real New York style made at a mom 'n pop Italian pizza joint. I don't like chain pizza places except for Papa Johns.

We get Imo's all the time here in Columbia...they're defintiely my fave locally!

As far as the Hut goes though, I prefer NY then thin then pan.

Thank God somebody said it before I had to break out the noogies.

Growing up on the East Coast, I can tell you (and the legions will soon be here to support me on this) that the *cough* "Big New Yorker" is nothing like NY-style pizza. they should have just called it "Big Ass Pizza, Same Shit Taste".

Unfortunately, there are very few places around here to get anything other than chain bullshit. But I have found a few places to sate my longings.

As far as chains go, I'm a Domino's guy if anything. Papa John's is pretty good, but expensive as hell. Pizza Hut is too damn greasy. Stuffed crust is a cool idea, but the purist in me says "Fuck it" anyway.

I prefer to make my own at home. And yes - it is the shizzat.

Diggy's right about that pan shit - it's like swallowing a brick. And the more toppings, the better.

Yeah, we got Imo's down here too. I like the crust, but there's something about the cheese that I don't care for--I think it's provolone instead of mozzarella, which gives it a creamy texture. Not my cup of tea, but if you're from the St. Louis area, you're practically born with a slice of Imo's in your mouth.

I dig thin crust, with Papa Johns being a local favorite. But there's a chain called Happy Joes in Illinois/Iowa that has, in MHO, the best pizza anywhere. I'd walk 100 miles for a half pepperoni half taco Joe.

Oh, and for all you Chi-town linkers, a buddy of mine introduced me to real Chicago style pizza from Aurelios (?) a while back when I was up that way, and I think I saw God.

You got that right jaybird!! Now you're talkin' REAL pizza!

New York pizza?! Puh-leeze! Next time you're up this way, try Home Run Inn (my personal fave), Connie's, Pizzeria Uno, and more.

Giordano's is the shit! Deep Dish Sausage and Pepperoni. Hot Sauce on top, inches of cheese, and that crust. I think I know now what I am having for lunch and dinner. Two slices will fill most people up. Connies is good, the original Uno's( if you can stand a long wait). Aurelio's is really good stuff too. 6.99 lunch buffet all you can eat. I have one near me in Oakbrook Terrace on Roosevelt. I love ZAAA. Sorry, also props to Homerun Inn. I eat at the one on 75th and Lemont Rd/main in downers/ highland in Lombard.

My heart felt condolences also go out to all those who must endure Pizza Hut and fine Italian cuisine.

Ever notice that the only pizza that tastes like shit the next day for leftovers is Little Ceasers? It's awful (not great the first time either, but cheap as hell.)

That's funny you said that about Little Caesars. I think it's terrible before and after as well. Homemade dough is the way to go. I made some pizza dough once out of wheat flour and it was good. The secret to the sauce is garlic, onions, basil, and olive oil.

OMG diamondsgirl! I almost forgot about that! I think they're called Pizzeria Regina and they're all over Boston. I used to date a girl who lived near Nashua NH, and whenever we went into the city, that was a must stop--usually the location in Fanuell Hall/Quincy Market. Their pepperoni slices were monstrous and mouth-watering greasy. Nothing like getting a slice, grabbing some sidewalk and doing some people watching--oh man, it almost makes me sad we ever broke up!

    Almost.
