I first saw the trailer during the last Jurassic Park movie. I thought, oh yeah!

Then I saw some of Fanhalen's updates and thought how cheesy it looks.

Then I went and saw Ice Age with my son. I saw the new trailor and did another 180.

I'm looking forward to seeing it because I am a big Spidey fan.

But I am disapointed in the actor they chose to play Peter Parker, he doesn't look like him to me. And why does the Green Goblin look like a Transformer?

This movie will rock even if you don't like who's who! (Anyone remember the casting of Michael Keaton in the original Batman?)

The CGI'd Spidey swinging through NYC looked a little cheesy in the trailer, but I still wanna see it nonetheless.

I think it looks like it will put those Batman movies to shame. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn't save that franchise! And if you're ever at Universal Studios Islands Of Adventure here in Florida, you gotta ride the ride!

I'm excited to see it.

But don't expect it to be a huge jugernaut of a movie. It will have Batman (1989) numbers I think in terms of box office gross.

Sorry, but I still think the new Star Wars (Attack of the Clones) will wipe the floor with SpiderMan.

That goes without saying. My only concerns are

1) Will it be good?
2) Will it make enough to warrant that sequel they are planning?

</font>
To answer these two questions:

1) YES - It will not only be good but GREAT! I have followed the movie and its story (with spoilers) very closely and I will say that it is the most complex and interesting story that a SW movie has ever had. Episode I was just that: Chapter 1. This next one sets up everyone for the big fall (ep3).

Reasons it will be great:

Jango Fett will kick ass.
Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) is the new baddie as well. His taunting and verbal persuasion will remind you of Vader. He will be brilliant.

Special effects: Yes, expect more mind-blowing stuff. If you seen the latest trailer, you'll know what I mean.

A sort of "Empire Strikes Back" feel to the movie. I won't start comparing but Attack of the Clones is close to it in terms of tone and so forth.

The very last reason is this: This will be the most action-packed Star Wars film ever.

Take my word for it.

2) Episode III had already scenes filmed for it when they shot Episode II. Number III comes out in 2005. Hey, just to see Darth Vader on the silver screen again would be worth the admission.

Spider-Man will be a great success.

Like I said, I think it will have Batman type numbers: $180 million domestically - tops. Maybe 200 million, but that's all.

Clooney killed Batman, not Arnold, just IMHO.

But I wasn't comparing the entire Batman franchise to one new Spider Man movie. I was comparing the hype and premiere of the first Batman movie in 1989. And it was huge (if some of you can remember).

But, it wasn't "Star Wars" Type numbers at the box office.

Niether will Spider Man be.

Batman (1989) remains the highest grossing movie based on a comic book hero.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Batman movies. The first one should been titled "The Joker" as it seems the producers wanted their moneys worth out of what they paid Nicholson and the subsequent sequels were mediocre at best. (I didn't even attempt to see the last one!)Now, Tim Burton got the look and the feel of the Dark Knight right, but there just wasn't enough Batman to go around for me. The fucking villians in these movies upstaged the movies too much! The next Batman franchise coming looks more promising: Frank Miller is taking a crack at the script!

Sam Raimi Working on Spider-Man 2
Tuesday, April 2, 2002 7:51 CST

Our sister site, Superhero Hype! has received word from several folks in attendance at the Australian press conference for the "Spider-Man" movie.

Notables include the fact that director Sam Raimi announced that he has definitely signed on for "Spider-Man 2" and as off yesterday (Monday, April 1st) said he was already working on the sequel.

Also, as you may have seen in the new trailer, footage of the Twin Towers will remain in the film to honor the victims of September 11, Raimi added.

VV, I was actually talking about Spider-Man, not Episode 2. I mean, hell, E2 could tank and E3 would still come out!
