I sit here watching Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds hitting a corked baseball 500 feet every game and it's blasphemy. You want baseball heroes? Look no further than my hometown - New York. Baseball heroes, legends and the stuff dreams are made of are bread in this town.

The mystique of the New York Yankees houses the real baseball heroes and that includes of Babe Ruth and Roger Maris.

My eight year old nephew could hit it out of the Yankee's stadium. Where's the right field?

Babe Ruth was born in Baltimore and came to the Yankees from the Red Sox in the then Red Sox owners desperate grab for cash, thus elevating the Yankees to their current status and dooming the Red Sox to a lifetime of futility. Roger Maris was also not from New York, don't remember where he's from, but I'm pretty sure it's not New York. He also did not start his career there, having played for the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City A's before being acquired by the Yankees and having that one magical season.

I knew someone would start this where they were born shit. Doesn't matter where they come from - HERE is where they make it, not baltimore (Ruth), not Oklahoma (Mantle) - none of those places. HERE.

You can rack up another world championship this year also while you're at it.

I don't know about the entire birth arguments, but I do agree that the Yankees will win the World Series again this year.

Chicago would have been the power in the Major League Baseball for the entire century, had it not been for the Black Sox scandal in 1919. They would have cruised through the 20's, and the team would have had the reputation of the Yanks. Once that Sox team broke up, the Yanks took over as the winning team. Up to that point, they sucked ass.

When Ruth played for the BlowSox, he and Ed Cicotte used to go head to head on the mound all the time. And then, who could get out Shoeless Joe Jackson? Nobody! Ruth even admits that Joe Jackson had the best lefty swing in the game, and it was an honor to be able to mock it. And Ruth said...he did!

Even Ty Cobb admitted Joe Jackson had the best hands and swing around for a lefty, and Cobb didn't compliment ANYONE!
CHICAGO WHITE SOX - 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONS

The Chicago White Sox (1901-present) - The Original SOX - Proof

The Boston Americans (1901)
The Boston Somersets (1902)
The Boston Pilgrims (1903-1906)
The Boston Red Sox (1907-present) - Proof

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

Yes but the Black Sox ruined the integrity of baseball for decades.

As far as many New Yorkers always talking shit about the rest of the country, I find it funny that nobody outside of New York gave two shits about the Subway Series last year, as ratings on the Series were brutal outside of New York.

Not everyone thinks the world revolves around New York. Anyway we can send these annoyances who move to LA daily back to NY? If they all make it in NY, why the hell do they all come here?
