This from MSNBC:
North Korea could launch pre-emptive strikes against U.S. forces rather than wait for an American attack after a war with Iraq, a spokesman for the nation told a British daily newspaper on Thursday. In response, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said the United States was ready to deal with “any contingencies” involving North Korea.

Oh well, their own funeral as far as I am concerned.

North Korea will never pre-emptively strike the United States. Never.

KJI may strike at South Korea, but never the United States.

The last asshole to directly strike the United States was Hasn't Bin Laid. The US military unleased the fooking fury on an entire country after that. No matter how delusional KJI is, no delusion can mask the reality that he and his country will get equal treatment after such a strike. If there's one thing everyone on this planet understands, it's that Americans demand and get swift and severe retribution when they're hit at home.

Rest easy. N Korea is a sh*tstain on the world map that the US will scoop up and throw in the trash if it starts to stink too badly...

They have like....three weapons and their talkin smack?? Granted just one over here to the left coast would cause hell on earth for us, but holy shit what DRASTIC mistake that would be on their part. They would be certainly wishing swift elimination.

Just got this in the email today from a friend of a friend who is a Christian missionary in that area.

Even if youre not a Christian, no bigee, you will still get the point of this note. Incredible over there. Hard to even comprehend in this day and age.

Anyways: ...

Found out on good authority yesterday that shortly before Christmas we, the
families of Americans stationed here in S.Korea, came close to being
evacuated because of the anti-American activity going on here at that time.
But, before actually going through with it, our withdrawal was first
presented as a "threat" to the governmental leaders of the South, to give
them a chance to deal with it with their own people. They did, and here we
still are!

NO WONDER all the Korean military or politico folks I've encountered since
Christmas start every conversation with, "We don't want the Americans to
leave" - as if I was wondering if they did.

Are you continuing to keep track of the "not-a-crisis" crisis situation with
North Korea these days? Don't take your eyes off the ball.... The heat
continues to rise.

Also, we've not much discussed this, but are you very aware(?), not very
aware(?), of the HOLOCAUST situation in the North that exists for the
everyday citizen? Not only are the people starving, but they are routinely
tortured and brutalized in diabolic ways, and used for HORRIFIC biological
and chemical experiments. This news is "out there" to be found, but not
readily. Would like you as Christians to be aware of this situation. The
people of North Korea really need our prayers. I don't know how, or what
it's going to take - and despite my own chicken-heart, I-want-my-comforts
Americanism - that regime has GOT TO GO!!

There is a German Dr., Dr. Vollertsen, who worked in hospitals in North
Korea from July 1999 to December 2000 who is making it his "cause" to make
the world recognize what is going on there.... here are some of his words...

"......President Bush has bravely called North Korea "evil" -- and he is
right. I know, because I have seen the evil with my own eyes. What I
witnessed could best be described as unbelievable deprivation. As I wrote
last April, "In the hospitals one sees kids too small for their age, with
hollow eyes and skin stretched tight across their faces. They wear
blue-and-white striped pajamas, like the children in Hitler's Auschwitz. It
became clear to me that Kim Jong Il and his Stalinist regime had made little
effort to distribute medical supplies and food to the people who needed it
most. I soon realized that North Korea's starvation is not the result of
natural disasters or even lack of natural resources. Like the Holocaust in
Europe, the horror in North Korea is man-made. This is a country where food
is used as a weapon against any opposition, Christians are persecuted, women
sexually abused and young children forced into labor. Still, the world
either doesn't know, doesn't care or doesn't want to believe. Twenty-two
million people suffer under a dictatorial regime that uses torture,
surveillance and starvation as tools to control its own people. Only the
regime's overthrow will end it. Last month I had the opportunity to
interview around 250 North Korean defectors near the China-North Korea
border and was truly horrified by their stories. Most had escaped from
hidden concentration camps where they suffered and witnessed routine
torture, mass-execution, baby-killing, rape, human biological experiments
(including the effects of anthrax) and, of course, starvation. Like Mr.
Bush, they call it evil too. As a German born after the Holocaust, I feel
it is my duty to speak out. But strangely, few are willing to listen. In
South Korea they speak of a "sunshine policy" to help Kim Jong Il modernize
and liberalize. What they don't understand is that he is not interested in
helping his people; rather he is interested only -- like Hitler and Stalin
-- in clinging to power. President Bush has rightly identified North Korea
as a prison state that uses terrorism against its own people. Moreover, his
"axis of evil" speech has sent a strong message to the North Korean people
that they are not forgotten -- and they are listening. Every North Korean
defector I spoke to over several weeks was delighted by President Bush's
words. They are full of hope that, like President Reagan's "evil empire"
speech, President Bush's "axis of evil" speech will eventually lead to the
collapse of Kim Jong Il's brutal regime. "
(END)

So, just keeping you - all my precious Christian friends - informed of these
important things. There are Christian prayer groups and ministries here in
Seoul who's sole focus and purpose is the people of the North, and helping
them. I know of at least one weekly prayer group of Americans living in
Seoul (not military connected) that meets just to pray for those in the
North, (almost impossible for me to get there, however), and there are some
joint American-S.Korean ministries that smuggle food and medicine into the
North. This is extremely risky work!!

Please keep these people in your prayers as you remember the oppressed.

Love to All of You -
(name omitted for privacy, seen)

Unfortunately, those (US & S Korea) are one and the same
If you're talking about US military presence, you're right. But I'm talking about a strike on sovereign US soil.

An attack on the DMZ does not unleash the fooking fury...something would happen, but it wouldn't be Afghanistan...

You are being facetious, Seenbad?
I wouldn't have thought N.Korea's armed forces are that big a joke actually, especially with that little nutcase calling the shots.....don't they have a million people in the regular force?
Probably a million more on reserve......they worry me.

Just a couple of questions.
What's China's stand on all the N. Korea B.S. ?
Can we still pull off two wars at once? I know, thanks to everybody's good old buddy Bill, our millitary has gotten a little smaller.

The military has been constantly in a state of "down sizing" since George Bush the 1st. The military has been shifting to more high tech weaponry that doesn't require as many men on the ground.

I believe I read N Korea has 2 million in their armed forces. Whereas that is a lot of troops how are they going to supply that many soldiers let alone transport them to our sovereign soil? They would hit our military in the Japan /S Korea areas.

China is concerned with a renegade country so close to their borders, but they like the fact that we have to concentrate on N Korea and Iraq rather than them.

The thing is if we attack N.Korea communist China would get involved What they have like 1 billion man army could you image all these Chinese and Korean just over taking south Korea. The U.S. would have to use nukes. It could get ugly real fast.

As far as the high tech weaponry, what happens IF that technology fails for what ever reason. The technology is pretty impressive, without a doubt, but right now it might be a little early to relie heavly on it. Oh well. That's why we have the dratf.
